I think its a bit weird the way the Cubs have handled Canario. He's hit well, but with a lot of strikeouts, in his time in AAA and the big leagues (very limited looks). Normally, clubs bail on guys like this once their numbers regress. I hope he gets picked up quickly by someone else and gets a decent shot at playing time in the big leagues.

He is only 25, so he is still young. Not having any options is his real hurdle, though. It is tough for a team to give a guy a real look without available options.

I can see a bottom feeder team claiming him, though. I think he has enough potential for some team to camp him on the 26 for the first 2-3 months of the season to see what he can do.
