I didn't think they were shelling out any cash for the new arena thanks to Kansas City?

They pay $4 million per year. Add that back to their -1.6 million operating income, and they're back in the black. Like they've been since 2006.

Call me an optimist but I have a feeling this new owner for the Sabres gives a shit about the team and will spend the money to win.

He is a great hockey fan (Galisano wasn't) his wife is from WNY and he has lived here. He also is worth twice as much as Golisano.

Maybe Boss won't die before we win a cup. :D

Don't ever mention that again.....I wonder howm many of the top 10 teams are playing in new arenas?....has to be a major plus....unless you are the Leafs or Canadiens who would probably still top the list if they skated on a frozen pond...

Satan's play-land as we like to call it...I blame Jerome Bettis, or the Pens'd be playing their SECOND season in a brand new, fully paid for Casino/Arena. But...I'm just happy they're still in town. :)

I was surprised to see how low the Caps are.

The top few are no-brainers, minus the Rags. They surprised me. I am guessing it has something to do with being an Original 6. I saw somewhere how much the Orig. 6 really account for merchandise sales.

Biggest media market in the NHL + expensive tickets + lucrative TV deal = major profit.
