Dave Hodge - TSN @TSNDaveHodge now For those asking, I'm all out of pens to flip. I'll use the one I'm holding to list the TSN folks who made hockey TV better than ever.
this could be good news ... sportsnet can win some brownie points and do the right thing by getting the right people to replace the dead weight on HNIC
As part of 12-yr $5.2-bil #NHL broadcast deal, #Rogers will assume all editorial control, including #HNIC and on-air talent.
So how is this going to work for teams like Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver who have their local games on Sportsnet?
Darren Millard at the podium hosting the press conference to announce the deal
2 minutes in and he's replaced by James Duthie lol
Gary Bettman: NHL Centre Ice will be now be sold and marketed by Rogers in Canada.
huh ... what?
does that mean if youre a Bell subscriber you have to wait for them to reach a licensing deal before you are allowed to pay for it???
Just a hunch, but something tells me you're a Bell subscriber (lol)
So how is this going to work for teams like Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver who have their local games on Sportsnet?
turns that tweet had nothing to do with the regional contracts with western cdn teams
it was about the HNIC saturday night games ... CBC wont be broadcastinng 2 games at the same time anymore (ie Leafs game in Ontario west ... Habs game in Quebec east)
David Shoalts @dshoalts now Under new deal, CBC can only show two games Sat. night, one early one late. No more multiple games for different regions. Rogers has them.
So I'm guessing Sportsnet will have a game at 4pm EST and then CBC has the 7 EST and 10 EST games? Or will Sportsnet actually get any of the 7pm EST or 10pm EST games?
