dude, im telling yah.:thumper:
If the contract says I can only work for that boss for 5 years. Yes. that would be a 5 year deal. Only way to not work for said boss would be to get out of the contract.

you want an example of options being part of the contract.
Look at Kaeps 7 year 126 mil. contract.
2014 to 2018 each year the niners could opt out of the contract

Yet it was still considered a 7 yr 126 mil. contract.

One of the stupidest contracts ever BTW.

Now let me ask you @SteelersPride. The medical company you’re working with says we will give you a 4 year contract making $100 grand a year. They also said we have to see if we want to give you another year or not. It depends on how you do. You tell me you just signed a 5 year contract?

It didn’t say that you can work for that boss for 5 year. He said he will let you know after your 4 year contract is up. You aren’t guaranteed the 5th year so you don’t have a 5 year deal. The NFL rookie deals don’t say you can only work for that boss/team for 5 years. If your boss don’t give you another year it wasn’t a 5 year contract.
actually it does. unless he cuts you (lets you out of the contract) You have no say. You play for that team you are under contract for. if that team says you play for 5 years. Yep you guessed it. You have no say!

He didn’t cut you. He decided to not use the extra year. He can give you another 5 year deal or you can go somewhere else... so you didn’t sign a 5 year deal.

It is a 5 year contract. He must agree to the 4 years and the option or no contract!
The fact that the 5th year is an option does not change the fact that the contract covers 5 years!

last thing i'll say. Its not another whole new 5 year deal. Its an opt out clause for the employer. They can pick up the 5th year, extended the 4 year to a 5 year. NOt an entirely new 5 year. Have fun @Schmoopy1000 stay sane buddy

But but but you didn’t answer my question. I completely comprehended EVERYTHING. I know no one else does cause it’s the same old dudes arguing against me. You, Schmoop, Handi, DoubleDown... even when I post undeniable truth with links from the NFL and ESPN you still say I’m wrong, then I’m right, then I’m wrong.

You’re not comprehending.
I said after the 4 years the team can not use the 5th year option then agree to terms on another long term deal.

Then why do all my links say “Elliot signs a 4 year deal” “Wentz signs a 4!year deal”
They don’t sign for 5 years.
They sign for 4 years and the team has an option to extend one year or not. That is not a 5 year deal. That’s a 4 year deal with a team option to extend or not extend.

actually because your links usually dont back up your point, and if you have seen, many new folks have come in and argued and left. Again NO ONE BACKS YOU THOUGH. Why is that? Why are you consistently contradicting yourself, and proven to? WHy have you consistently been wrong, and been proven wrong? Why have you consistently slightly changed your story, or got made and stated how you were "fucking close"? answer those, and i'll answer you. Answer them all. Not just one, or some lame reply on how you are right. Otherwise, again, done.

He signed a 5 year contract in which the 5th year is an option.

"The Fifth-Year Option is non-negotiable, and the non-compensation terms from a player’s rookie contract will be transferred to the fifth year."

This means that when the option is used, the salary is already determined. Yes this a 5 year contract!
