The 2 million absolutely gives them salary cap relief.

And he still won’t admit it and Tapey, SteelersPride, Handicappers and DoubleDown will all pile on together saying we are idiots.
Right now their telling me rookies sign 5 year contracts and it’s not true. They sign 4 year deal and I provided links and they still say I’m wrong in saying rookies sign 4 year deals and the team can either add or not add another one year deal at a big pay raise. What ever an Eagle fan says is wrong even if you post links and proof.

Manster won’t admit he’s wrong about the 2 million savings... watch.

yes its a 4 year contract with a 5th year option for first rounders.

no @SU Nittany Tide is a good guy, and brings some validity and facts. You cant even remember what u said 5 minutes ago. When shown proof of you contradicting yourself, you deny it. WHen shown proof you are wrong, you slightly change things, when totally wrong you state "come on fucking seriously your gonna nail me to a cross for being close" , cant ever keep your shit straight, or admit fault.

Yes, that’s all true. It is a simple concept. They get a 4 year contract and the team has the right to add on a new contract for one year. They don’t get 5 year contracts like you said. They all get 4 year contracts like the article says. The team can give them a new one year deal or skip it if they want to.

No.

The 5th year option is written into the original deal. And up to the club whether they want to exercise it or not.

The dollar value of that 5th year isn't known at the time of signing so no one can report the exact number that 5th year will be worth. So it is just easier to report the known numbers.

But the 5th year option is written into the original deal. Teams have to DECLINE or EXERCISE the option in the original contract. It's not a new contract.

It’s a new 1 year extension at an inflated number that has nothing to do with their 4 years. He said rookies sign 5 year contracts which they don’t. I posted proof in links 3 times.
I see and agree with your point it’s not a new contract because it is attached as an option on their 4 year deal.

You do realize this is saying what I have been saying. Right?

The team has the rights to that player for 5 years.
All rookies are 4 years. 1st rounders are 5 if the team chooses.

The player has no say in it. If a team chooses to keep the player & pay the 5th year. The player gave that team that right 4+ years ago, when he signed this contract.

Players do have a say in "signing" a Fran. Tag Contract. (in Business it takes a signature to make a "new" contract)

You haven’t been saying that all along. You said rookies sign 5 year deals... which they don’t. They agree to monies on a 4 year deal. The team can extend it or not.

The option is inside the original contract. Written right into it. It is not a new deal like you were saying in your previous post. There is no new contract that the player signs.

It is different than the franchise tag. A franchise tag is a new contract. The player can hold out all of training camp and not be punished because he is not under contract. A player who has his 5th year option picked up by the team can not sit out or they are subject to massive fines because they ARE under contract.

their guaranteed money is 4 years. the team owns their rights for 5. Since they are talking #'s that is what the player will be making for sure. (4 years)

A simple concept for most.

also what i agreed to, thanks, that its a 4 year contract, with a 5th year option. Teams own their rights for a 5th. year. THe "contract" numbers are listed for 4 years...........exactly as i stated.......and agreed with. SO no i wasnt wrong. thanks

Yes, you are right. What I meant is it a new one year deal at different monies. We were really trying to talk about the rookie deals. He said they sign for 5 year. I said they sign for 4 and the team can use an option or not to extend them.
