Flyers Will Have New Third Jersey In 2014-15

I'm just hoping it's not a black jersey

The buzz on Twitter right now is that we are getting a third jersey next year. If it is the 80s/90s orange jersey as a throwback I'd be in love. Considering that I don't like any new jersey lately I won't get my hopes up.

Don't touch the logo and I'd prefer no black

What is just said in the other thread. I can't stand to see us go back to black.

i used to love the concept of third jerseys, but lately i've been pretty happy the flyers only have 2. there's something kind of cool about just having one logo and matching home and away jerseys. simple and bold. with that being said, i could still be open to a third jersey. i don't want black though. i never enjoyed the flyers in black. the flyers absolutely should be orange. black just doesn't work for the flyers in my honest opinion. if a black jersey is done well i might still like it though. ideally, i'd like to see them do something cool with a different orange design. i really enjoyed the winter classic jersey from 2012. maybe something along those lines

Agreed, I've liked the simple home and road jerseys - it just feels right

I would love the 2012 WC jersey as the third jersey but that's it - and black doesn't work at this point, a lot of what they're selling is orange related so bringing black back wouldn't do much

Bright orange would be tight, like so bright it blinds you. Wish my Pens would do that with yellow again. Like neon colors.

That's nice. I like the circle with the P in the middle and Flyers Hockey on top. And, I remember the old Ramblers and Firebirds.

I miss that too. 'Home Whites' just rolls off the tongue so easily. (and I love the white jerseys.. actually have a white Giroux, which works out since I rarely see them in philly haha)

Never understood why it changed and doubt I will ever totally like it. Oh, well.

They changed from wearing home whites to home dark colors as a money grab. Now all the fans who had a white jersey that went to home games now have to go out and buy themselves and their kids dark jerseys to wear at home. Multiply that by every team in the league and the NHL pulled in quite a few bucks.

That makes sense. Same logic is behind the third jerseys as well.
