refs are blind

Just out of curiosity, what are the rules if a guy gets sticked in the face when he's on his knees or on the ice or something? It looked like Myers was getting up when he got whacked. Is that still supposed to be a call, or is it considered okay?

Standing up along the blue line is not really "trapping" Minty, keeping guy's in the neutral zone when the team is coming out of their own zone consistently and standing up at the blue line is trapping.

It's up to the Sabres to adjust to it.

Hartnell was trying to clear the stick away from Myers and missed the stick and got him in the face.

to be fair here is the official NHL rule: A “high stick” is one which is carried above the height of the opponent’s shoulders. Players and goalkeepers must be in control and responsible for their stick. However, a player is permitted accidental contact on an opponent if the act is committed as a normal windup or follow through of a shooting motion. A wild swing at a bouncing puck would not be considered a normal windup or follow through and any contact to an opponent above the height of the shoulders shall be penalized accordingly.

I guess it would be the refs interpretation of that rule.

yeah, I think it was Neids stick that caught Myers. Hartnell's stick caught Neids stick which caught Myers face.

He's still waaaay young and unselfish. He hasn't realized yet that he is allowed to go out there and take the game over.

He has sick ass hands for a big kid too.
