Yep Mase easily first star but Couts has found his niche. Play D and the O will come....what a sick combo. He may end up being our best player...hard to believe but true.

Forgot to mention Berube for making the players accountable. Just as long as he holds true guys will know play hard and don't fuck up and you'll be fine. Otherwise you'll be in the press box! Good job! Mez took advantage of his opportunity...loved it.

Hard for me to come up with any stars tonight - of course offensively they couldn't do anything but they didn't really play awful, just didn't generate any offense - those two goals they gave up were quick strike - first two periods were good defensive hockey - they just have to score more

There is no fair analysis for what just happened. Two periods of pure shit, and a period of sweet, sweet dominance. No Datsyuk or Zetterberg for Detroit, no Lecavalier for us.

This team is an enigma

1) Sean Couturier - What an animal he is and was tonight, four point night and took over this game!
2) Matt Read - He had a great game as well on the Run DMC line - you could probably put that entire line on
3) Steve Mason - He gave up three goals early but he settled down and he was a nice presence in net for us!

I even thought Raffl was good last night. He played well defensively and created a few chances drew penalties too. Once he scores he'll be a nice guy to have around.

i'm glad you mentioned him. i watned to, but i was tired and went to sleep. so coots was the only one that got mentioned. i thought raffl was especially good on the PK, at least the couple that i saw. he's really aggressive and gets in a lot of passing lanes.. then we he gets the puck he can skate it up ice or just dump it down, and he typically makes the right decision. i was real pleased w/ his work on the PK

1) Michael Raffl - I loved his game tonight, very stellar and I think he needs to stay with G on that top line
2) Steve Mason - Didn't hear much of his name tonight but he made the saves when they needed him to
3) Claude Giroux - The speed of Michael Raffl really helped G, I love what they got there so far

1- Berube for putting Hartnell on the second line
2- Gee was a monster in all zones
3- Raffl for coming up big on the first line and his continued all around play

The newly formed top line in the following order:

1. Voracek
2. Giroux
3. Raffl

Honorable mention to Gustafsson. He really helped push the play all game long from the blue line with his mobility, much like Voracek did at the other end.

1. Voracek - Probably should've had a hat trick. Very quick and elusive, with a nice wrist shot.
2. Mason - Made a lot of tricky, underrated saves to hold the fort.
3. Coburn - Really showcased some of his speed, puck moving and playmaking abilities, especially while orchestrating the 2 on 1 that led to the first goal. Led the defense in minutes by far, especially at even strength. He is a horse for us.

agree with this.. i'll add raffl and simmonds as guys who played really well.. simmonds even had hands for a minute that was kinda fun

timonen and grossmann both shut down OV one on one, that was good.

huge for the PP to capitalize on the major

You know it was a solid team game when you think of 6-8 names while trying to come up with the three stars. I would even mention Read and Streit, who both played big minutes and were also very effective offensively, especially on the power play.

I really want to know how many posts we've hit this season. It has to be more than one per game at the very least. Streit finally got one to deflect in instead of out.
