You wouldn't trade the first pick for say the third and seventh overall? I'd consider it this year.

If I had the 1st pick the lowest I would consider going is 2. If I can't get Jones I'd want McKinnon. I like Drouin a lot, but the Center has more value. Both forwards could be special & who knows Nichushkin could be the best player in the draft, but the team who takes him will have to wait 2 years before they'll have a chance to sign him.

The Blue Jackets are liking the way the Rangers are playing right now.

Does O'Reilly get to choose which team to sign with? I would think the Canucks would be his first choice in this case.

Its free agency (restricted) any team can throw out an offer

My guess is vancouver offered a lesser amount (ie they werent gonna offer ror 6.5 mill in any year when neither kesler nor sedin make that much) and ror's agent told feaster he needed to up his offer

or they didnt offer anything at all and let out a slip that maybe they did to appease a fan base. I dont know what is worse that I think they would actually do something like that or that we are second fiddle to an alberta team again.

Calgary media reported the canucks offer ... Probably feaster leaked that to semi-explain why the dollars offered are so high

Botchford is saying canucks had "zero fucking interest" lol ... feaster must have leaked it to rationalize the price tag

Canucks say they did not tender an offer sheet on Ryan O'Reilly. "Bad scoop," commented AGM Laurence Gilman

Wow, that's a lot of money. I like the kid but I am not sure I like him that much.

If I was Calgary I would be looking to acquire draft picks instead of trading them.

At first glance, I agree with you, but Calgary's drafting record is quite putrid and we have a pretty good idea what kind of player ROR is. Obviously, the 6.5 million in the second year is going to serve as the qualifying offer amount if Colorado matches. Feaster and Weisbrod playing hardball with the Avs.

Well, that didn't take long and I'm not surprised.

yeah for what they were holding out for I cant see why they would want a 1st and a 3rd. after year 1 is over of this contract I see him being traded for sure

I'm happy they matched. The Flames will be sellers and Feaster can deal Iggy to the Pens in about a month...
