Officially

Wish him a quick and full recovery, but I am extremely glad to see that he won't be starting for us again this year. And hopefully won't ever start for us again. It was a gigantic mistake to even bring him in. He did absolutely nothing for the offense.

This feels like a win. Just saying. I hope he is cut prior to the new league year.

Poor Flacco, but I want to pile on this one.

This is like when the medical examiner has to come up with the time of death. We know it was painful.

The question now is Flacco’s Broncos career over after 8 games? I would say more then likely. Even if the young guys show little in the last 8 games those guys need to battle for the starting job in 2020, with Lock hopefully with the inside track. I will be very disappointed if Flacco starts another game in Denver and at this point Chis Harris has way more value. If I am choosing between those 2 Harris is the no brainer answer.

Sadly I would not put it past Elway to go get another Vet to start next year. That seems to be how he handles the QB position.

Literally my worst fear and probably very likely to happen. Also wouldn't be surprised if Elway tries to kick the tires on Andy Dalton.

One of the least likely things would be that Joe Flacco developed a herniated disk in his neck - just in the last few weeks of playing football. Either he brought the disk herniation with him from Baltimore on it was already in a condition ready to become herniated. Putting Flacco on IR to this reason is a face saving gesture both for the player and upper management.

The Broncos should have been aware of Flacco's cervical condition prior to his formal acquisition -either they decided to play him that way or they missed an incredible due diligence at his physical. The fact the Broncos upped his contract after the season started really kind of leans to the latter explanation - they were dopes.

At this point, it's probably safe to say Flacco's career is over.

No TDs in his last 3 games. Replaced by a kid that had never played a regular season snap. That kid throws 2 first half TDs and gets a W.

Flacco was either in the wrong scheme or he has absolutely nothing left.

I was never thrilled about Flacco, but even with all the talk about Joe being a former SB MVP and "the guy", I don't think he was ever considered anything more than a 1 year bridge anyway ..

He can look back at a good career, great playoff win percentage, and the amount of NFL alumn who can say that they were SB MVP is a very small room ..

That said, the season just got a whole lot more interesting …

I think it was Kyle Shanahan who called the acquisition "a steal" …. who knows -- had Elway hired Shanahan instead of Vance, Kubiak might still be here and if all these quotes are accurate, Flacco would have probably ended up here eventually anyway ...

Kyle Shanahan neglected to point out who he thought was stealing from whom - in the Broncos/Flacco contract.

I did think the Flacco signing was a good move, but I was very wrong on that one.

Yes, it was alway a steal...for the Ravens.

I think that with a first time HC whose experience is on defensive side of the ball, paired with a first time OC who had never called plays in the NFL, acquiring a former SB MVP to stabilize the most important position on the field is understandable ..

Flacco didn't work out which isn't a surprise, but in hindsight, it was a perfectly sound decision .. We've got the future QB lined up which takes all of the sting off of the Flacco situation anyway

So all the insiders. What is going on with Lock? Is he a luxury pick that Elway does not plan to play at all? Waiting for 8 losses? Given up on him ??

What the buzz inside Dove valley

Oak did last night what Denver has failed to do 3 times. Stop an opponents last drive. Oakland has done it twice in a row and 3 times total.

Difference in being 2nd in the AFCW and last.

Thanks.....our run defense has improved a lot.....the pass defense still needs some tinkering in the offseason.....

Pretty sure he wants Lock to be fully prepared before he puts him in and doesn’t want to throw him to the wolves.
