Well I would HOPE the front office would have plans to surround who ever is playing QB with above average talent and try to build the defense. I mean its not as if we had Wentz at QB it would afford us the luxury of putting Al Roker at the Z WR position on Sundays.

Well, I'm sure that is their hope. But right now we are fairly inferior at the RB position, we don't have a bell cow. And our WRs are mediocre. Kirk is doing well with what he has got, but our WRs don't scare anybody.

RB is generally not a position where you have to spend a ton of money. Again - poor selections by the Redskins. They have not even really made an attempt to find a RB in free agency in the recent past & their draft picks in this area thus far have not produced beyond Thompson. You can't blame everything on the cap.

Ok...So why did we let D-Jax and Pierre hit FA then?? We are missing them badly this year.
It was foolish to let them both go. My guess is they didn't want to sign up for an expensive long term deal for 2 WRs over 30. They should have kept one.

True, We have drafted poorly at RB AND WR for sure. Just can't seem to find a marquee player at either of those positions. And yeah... we have some really shitty luck with injuries too (Doctson, Reed).

Yes, definitely. Not sure which I would have preferred but lean towards Garçon. He has been productive for years... kindof like Witten at Dallas. Unspectacular, yet solid/money when you need him.

Yep - makes it frustrating as fans. Just some of the weirdest luck. What other team 1. loses their #1 draft picks for the past 2 years for substantial time in their initial season. 2. has a starting safety who decides to give up football 3. loses most of their OL for several games due to injury 4. loses most of their secondary at one time or another due to injury 5. loses their kicker for the entire season 6. loses their starting ILB for the season & 7. loses their primary receiving target for substantial time. Oh well - I guess it could be worse (Colts or Packers), but these type of things make it really tough to evaluate this team.

Hopefully Docston stays healthy & shows signs this season as to why he is drafted (will be tough w/ that beat up OL). I know that Snyder wants to win - they just have to make sure that they stick to the plan & keep using the draft to improve this team (regardless of who plays QB). At least it is not like in the past where they did poorly and were aging.

Good question. For starters Jackson isn't doing that great rt now. Beyond that they could have at least retained one - instead they signed Pryor who has been a massive bust so far. The main issue there is a poor decision - not the $$. BTW - from all accts the Redskins FO never even talked to either Jackson or Garcon - stupid if that is true.

That's an understatement about D-Jax. So far he is under 400 yds passing and is not even in the top 30 for wide outside. Right now our running back has more receiving yards and is ranked at 20.

Pierre Garçon is fairing better with 500 and is the top 20, at 14.

Meanwhile despite having no receivers or semblance of a running game Big Cuz has cracked the top 10 at number 9 with 1900 passing yards. And is tied for 7th for TD passes.

So yeah considering what he has to work with Capt Kirk isn't playing that horribly.

He is actually sixth in yards per game because a couple of guys have played one more game than he has.

The narrative this past off season from some was that Cousin's was successful because of DJax and Garcon. Through almost half a season he is still top 10 or better with two wide receivers named Who Is That and What happened To Him. Another theory shot to hell. :D

No worries gang, with the line depleted things could get worse before they get better.

Honestly, I have no idea how KC is putting up these numbers. The two WRs that made KC last season were replaced by two guys that may get 500 yards this season. The other WR and TE that were considered above average to great are shells of their former selves. So who is replacing some of that production...a RB people on here complained shouldn't get a contract extension, a very old TE, and a WR nobody believes should be here.

I will give credit to Crowder for stepping up last game. You would think that some of the other healthy players would do the same (actually do it - not talk about doing it). 1 combined yd of receiving from Pryor/Doctson is not going to cut it.
