Nice win Flyers.

Really happy with the effort from the Habs. They're just not that good.

Some of these youngsters could be nice pieces if they continue to develop.

I said it before the trade deadline but it’s even more true now - Montreal has SUCH a chance to build an army if they want here.

They killed their chances of a lottery pick by qualifying for the play-in tournament and then by winning the play-in but they have so many guys who are UFA after next season (Gallagher, Armia, Petry, Danault, Tatar) and they’ve pretty much all only increased their reputation during this tournament. Add in the fact they’re all relatively cheap at a time teams are hamstrung by a frozen cap and they could absolutely fucking RAKE picks and prospects if they wanted to.

Weber’s also been good and is also 35. I doubt they’d want to but this is probably the last chance to move him for something of value - eat a million of his salary and it’s pretty palatable.

Deal with one bad season while the kids grow, add to the farm during a deep draft in which they already have two extra second rounders and get Cayden Primeau to start learning more from Carey Price and they’ll likely be terrifying in a couple of years.
