I lied..

I went back and looked at video..

Kakko decided to lower shoulder and go in which he has the right to… his left knee you could clearly see was going towards away from crease while his right knee led in , meaning he was trying to avoid contact with desmith, the shove cause the alleged interference. Kakko did it right ! Refs got it wrong..

and , the calls were lopsided all game , while complaints about the refs are rampant throughout the playoffs ..,

How is it possible that any team play perfect hockey like the penguins did for 5 periods … and I ain’t blamin Pitt for it , the refs SUCK

If it went the other way, I’d blame them also … you didn’t not penalize a player, any player, from any team for workin hard and doin the right thing … this crap is happening all games . Just happened in the Caroline game where they f’ed up a call and got the crowd going nuts … ain’t just me talki bout the refs

They called up D'Orio to backup Domingue while DeSmith is out.

And the "thedddd" posted this.

You stop, I have it recorded and watched it many times, especially the overhead replay.

He was already in the crease moving laterally before the shove. All the shove did was knock him down in the same general direction he was already moving.

(1) This picture says you're wrong. He's 3-4 feet outside the crease and Dumolin is already IN his back with his arms around part of his body.

Screen-Shot-2022-05-04-at-9.19.37-AM-1024x568.png

(2) Even if he was going the direction toward the goalie, that doesn't mean he would have HIT the goalie but for Dumolin's push/momentum.
(3) Given the direction Kakko ended up, its clear he attempted to miss the goalie AND... again... might have but for Dumolin.

NHL Rule 78 - Note 1 states "If an attacking player has been pushed, shoved, or fouled by a defending player so as to cause him to come into contact with the goalkeeper, such contact will not be deemed to be contact initiated by the attacking player for purposes of this rule, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact."

So, to break this down, there is no doubt he was "pushed, shoved, or fouled" by Dumolin. I'm not sure which but certainly one of those standards is met. As such, Kakko's contact is now excused per the second bolded standard if he meets the threshold of the third bold statement.

Did he make a "reasonable" attempt to avoid. This is without a doubt! If it said "EVERY" effort to avoid there is some subjective fodder. But look at him STILL not in the crease now having moved more laterally than forward (certainly a very objective measure of an "effort" to avoid contact.

Based on the rule AS it is written and based on the objective information we have here, I don't see how anyone could conclude this goal should have been disallowed. It seems like the exact situation this rule was written for. If Kakko barreled into DeSmith and they all were deep in the net I hear ya. But I don't see how anyone could say there wasn't a reasonable effort to avoid, and thus a good goal.

I rest my case your honor and the judge declares me the winner. That's how the law works, don't look it up.

And now I want that damn welcome basket!! Enough is enough.

Two rebuttals for you:

1 Look at the position of Lafreniere. If Kakko makes any move to avoid DeSmith he runs into poor little Alex. We all know that Kakko has been told he is not to do anything detrimental to Lafreniere.

2 You posted a picture of Mark Messier in a Rangers sweater. That automatically renders all your arguments null and void. Did I mention that I really dislike Messier.

Q. Do you know why the goal was disallowed?

A. Absolutely. My answer is I don't have the first damn clue. Maybe he was pushed from behind and couldn't avoid the Penguins goalie. And maybe he didn't have any friends at the War Room in Toronto. I'm an educated man, but I'm afraid I can't speak intelligently about the skating habits of Kappo Kakko. What I do know is that he did enter the crease and left it shortly there after. What happened after that is pure speculation. Now, are these really the questions I was called here to answer? Goalie collisions and disallowed goals? Please tell me that you have something more. These two teams are battling for a spot in round 2. Please tell me they haven't pinned their hopes to a video review.

I’m going back to another post. You’re not going anywhere . Ekectomotive arrest the colonel.

This is a joke, again dumolin couldn’t keep up with Kakko, he’s a subpar defenseman .

Nas, order Code red for dash and forty 3
