If I remember correctly, I believe Daniels mentioned that a couple of times in this last draft, teams chose who the Rangers wanted to pick in the first few rounds just before the Rangers time came to pick. So drafting in front of a team instead of behind them can help in more than just the first round.

Perhaps but given a choice I would bet at least one if the four but likely more will make it to bigs and have bigger impact

well Otto for sure will be the rotation and Smith and Duran have a chance to be something good but in 2022 Peters will probably be in the OF for all if not all of the season. i have never claim he is an all-star just a very adequate OF'er who has shown the possibility of bringing a good bat into the program. and with the exception of Garcia we need a good everyday player to join him in the OF. who else do we have?

I think some folks were just so thrilled to see Gallo go that his replacement, or what they perceive as his replacement, is going to be seen through rose colored glasses. On a much lesser scale, Woodward has gotten the same treatment from those who didn't like Banny.

maybe some see it that way, but Peters is the best available OF'er on our roster not named Garcia so unless there's someone better who comes to mind presently on the roster he seems to be the one who will going to ST with the biggest opportunity to earn a roster spot next year. that is unless you are suggesting signing multiple low level FA OF'ers to 1 or 2 year deals with the plan to unload them at the trade deadline.

Ok the question who is a better player… it is Gallo. But the better fit was and is Peters. Glad we made that trade. And not ready to add Gallo
