Close.
I can see 2 of those 3, but if that DT from Missouri State is available, I'd put him in that mix as well.
Also, I could see Holmes drafting LSU LB Damone Clark, so long as he can pass the DeAndre Levy medical exam
WTF do I know? Not much.

Aaaaand he's gone.

Aaaaand he's gone.

I mentioned Johnson because Pride of Detroit stated he was being heavily looked at by Holmes and company. I didn't even know the guy existed prior to that.

Oh well, not a big deal.

I'm sticking to my thought that Holmes drafts injured Damone Clark.

Odd thing about Johnson is here's a big guy who's nearly 300 pounds and only benched 225 eleven times

I would not mind Carson Strong, he might be the best qb in yhis, just with the most medical concerns. 5/6 to see if they can work on the knee issues is worth a flyer I think.

While talking about injury risks Ross is around and outplayed Tee Higgins before he was hurt

Not interested ^^^^ and not everything is all speed and agility metrics
Buttttttttttttt

Ross has the height advantage but is extremely slow in and out of breaks and getting off L.O.S.

I could possibly see Holmes going after a WR like, but not necessarily the exact player, Bo Melton. - Rutgers guy that was underused

IDK

Detroit Lions: James Mitchell, TE, Virginia Tech - A- Grade
The Lions are concerned about not being able to retain T.J. Hockenson past the 2022 season, so this pick makes sense from that regard. It's also a solid value choice, as James Mitchell could've gone in the fourth round with no complaints.

I don't know a damn thing about this TE, but watching his clip they put up, I find him to be intriguing. And then I read he has an ACL injury. We have a couple of those on the roster already. I get it that he's light in the weight department but watch his blocking skills.

6th round (181): James Mitchell, TE, Virginia Tech

If not for a torn ACL shortening his season, Mitchell would probably be in consideration for a late Day 2/early Day 3 pick. If he can stay healthy, he has the potential to earn some starting snaps and use his speed/route-running ability to create some mismatches.

Pre-Draft Analysis

Mitchell is an effective route runner with good quickness off the line and out of breaks. He shows good body control and hand-eye coordination adjusting to throws outside of his frame. He runs well and tracks the deep ball well. He's a willing and aggressive blocker, but he has a leaner frame and lacks snap in his hands. Mitchell missed most of the 2021 season because of a knee injury. -- Steve Muench
