It is not bad and would have worked had we not picked up Elliot at safety.

Counting on Elliot as a full-time starter going forward is bothersome to me. I see him being more as a stopgap for this year than anything else - a let's see what he can do - plus, he's oft-injured since being drafted.

just my :2cents:

My guess if double down on Safety we are not using the number 2. At least I hope not.

Where did all your love go for Kyle Hamilton?

Markquese Bell is so damn raw, it'll be 2-3 years, at a minimum, should he develop into a starter. CJ Moore - one year contract, De Shon Elliot - one year contract, Brady Breeze - one year contract, Will Harris - is on his last year of rookie contract.

Moore and Breeze are nothing more than ST players who can come in in an emergency.
Maybe, Will Harris develops into something more than not knowing where he truly fits. Maybe.

There does exist a starter level player for this draft and a possible 2nd drafted Safety to develop for 2023 and beyond.

My personal beliefs are that Thibodeaux fits better in a 3-4 scheme just like Mafe, Ebiketie, Bonitto, Ojabo.
I do believe that Thibodeaux can still excel in a 4-3 but would be better off playing 75-80% of his defensive snaps out on the weakside.

I would still draft Thibodeaux and would primarily play him as a 7/9-tech with limited 6-tech snaps. He's not a reduce to inside player.

Hutch, Jermaine Johnson, Drake Jackson all could play weakside or strongside and still be better than just efficient at strongside.

Also, if Holmes does draft Thibodeaux and a huge if should Karlaftis somehow drop down to 32, I wouldn't hesitate one bit to draft him as that 4-3 Base end. Yes, even if Nakobe Dean somehow was there at 32 also.

I'm not counting on any of the big 3 WR of: London, Wilson, Olave falling to 32 or even Devin Lloyd.

One other 4-3 Base End option could be San Diego State, Cameron Thomas.

I would jump at the opportunity to finish off, for this year, the Edges before beginning the back seven.

Karlaftis has been dropping and while not nearly like AJ Epenesa did last year, I could easily see it happening. All it takes is more 3-4 teams in that Top 15 to draft a player the general public doesn't see in order for the possibility of the chain reaction to occur.

There will be another FA and draft by then so we dont need all at once. Right now we need one good one and one developmental. Next year we may have to replace one but I like Elliot. He actually wanted to come here. Crossing my fingers on the injury bug.

I wouldn't hate this draft, but I'm not a fan of drafting a LB at No.66 that's not even good or simply average in coverage. I understand the part of his game where you could line him up at SAM in certain situations or all-out blitz from the MIKE, but in all honesty, he's a 2-down run stopping LB.

No.2 DE Hutch
No.32 WR Pickens
No.34 DT Wyatt ............................ Many believe he'll be long gone by this point. You never know.
No.66 LB Chenal
No.97 S B. Cook ............................ I could easily see this selection if they miss out early on with other S
No.177 OL J. Salyer
N0.181 TE J. Mitchell
No.217 RB M. Borghi

Lions are heavily connected to DT Eric Johnson, Missouri State, for one of those 5th-6th round picks

This is a pretty good one but I think both Pickens and Wyatt are gone in the first round. Dont want to waste a draft pick on a RB this year.

Seeing how we got Hutch, Williams (way faster than Pickens) and another solid DE. I honestly can say the Lions far exceeded this mock draft.
