Most of the time I can't get anyone to move up and other times they're knocking down my door to trade...

I have problems trading back for more draft picks... FOR this year and next year!!!

Obviously, this is a complete and utter bullshit statement by you.

I hope you have fun doing these, because you're not very good or very realistic.

Awww, c'mon, you're possibly tainting his taint by speaking the truth even though I'm 100% on board with your thought process.

I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings, but if the Lions turned 3 top 34 picks including the #2 overall into 2 mid teens picks it would be a monumental failure. Just trading the #2 overall for a couple mid teen picks by itself is already probably a loss, but we would still have a couple other top 34 picks. Would need at least 1 more current first rounder or multiple future firsts to make this even look reasonable.

This is the only way we get Lloyd. I do think Jets or Texans will trade up with us but the rest is up in the air. most likely we end up with number 4 pick and get Hamilton or Thibideaux and some later picks maybe round 2 or 3.

Focus was trading back and getting second round picks, easier to stockpile those than 1sts, and ended up with the Broncos 1st next year as well.

Figure Hill and Pitre means we would not need to resign Walker. Lloyd, Muma, and Walker could make for a lot of talent at linebacker.

I think I missed value on my trade backs, but I am happy with the results on this.

Still a nice draft but we need a safety unless we sign 2 in FA. I am gonna hurt myself if Will Harris is still on this teem.

I figured Hill and Pitre cover the starting, maybe resign Walker as the big nickel at that point? Figure Amy range of journey man could fill that. I doubt Harris goes anywhere though, coaching staff seemed to love him.

I wish we had our original 4th and 5th round picks this year plus an additional top10 pick in each of those rounds.

I don't understand why TDN and PFF both have Hill and Pitre listed as CB when they're clearly Safeties - being able to play nickel/slot may be the reason.

No iDL selection for me although I could've drafted Winfrey at #32 or reached at #97 for Eyioma Uwazurike (rated #178) who went mid-4th round. selected Bama's Phidarion Mathis at #66 which would have made me miss out on LB Muma. I drafted Ole Miss RB Jerion Ealy as we have 3 in-between-tackle RB in J. Will, Netflix and J. Jefferson and with Swift injured every year Ealy can possibly fill in. Ealy is smaller but he has many of the same traits as Swift.

Nothing but fantasy.

I love that everyone is on all these defensive picks. We haven't had a legit defense since the Suh-Fairley squad.

Would love to scoop up Willis or Corrall at #32 if one of them are there though.

The deeper I look into this year's draft the worse it looks. At least among top tier talents. I still like Hutchinsen and I'm personally still on Thibodeaux over him. But neither compares well to other recent top 5 type DE's like Garrett, Young, and Bosa x2. None of these QB's are even first round worthy, although they'll be pushed up because of need and importance of the position. There's imo 5 promising WR's but none hold a candle to some recent guys. Same with CB, there's some talent there, but nobody that really wows. Stingley would have been if he kept up his freshman performance, but he really fell off. I do like both Dean and Lloyd a ton as off ball linebackers, but I am not 100% sure how well they fit our scheme, I still don't have a great grasp on our defense. In today's NFL it's always important to have guys that can play coverage and tackle in a nickel set, so would love to have either guy, but I'm not sure the value is there in our base set. And obviously not at #2. No RB at all, maybe no RB worthy by the 3rd time we go up to the podium at 34. There is several top tier O Linemen, but literally the only spot on the roster in good spot is at Tackles. I guess we could have a hell of a running game if we took Neal or Ekuwanu and played them at OG, but that's never gonna happen.

Just a bleh year to be at the top. And I don't see much demand to trade up. There's 3 great LT prospects, so even if one goes #1 overall and teams are desperate to get a guy, they still can wait on trading up to a team behind us and save on the price. Maybe if Hutch goes #1 overall somebody desperate for pass rush comes up to #2 for Thibs if they thinks there's too much drop-off between him and the next tier. That's literally the only chance we have to trade down. I see lots of people mocking it, and I would be ok with it in this draft. But I just don't see any other scenario where a team would be willing to trade up.

Hutchinson is not as good as the Bosa/Garrett/Young, he is however still way better than anything we have had in a very long time. It sucks we are not getting the next super star, but I would sure love to get Robert Porcher back.

Overall top end talent does feel worse this year, but I do think it is deep in the next tier, and we have the 32 and 34th pick. Lions can come away with a lot of talent from this draft.
