Yeah the Elite 11 has selected guys that have gone on to the NFL, but only at a rate of just above 33%. You'd think they'd be able to do better than that. Obviously the guys selecting the players has changed over the years, so maybe they will start turning it around. Although the kid they chose committed to Rutgers makes me wonder, his only other scholarship offers were to Bucknell, Buffalo, Uconn, Monmouth, Temple and Towson.
33% is pretty high compared to the bulk of college football. So yeah - pretty high!33% isn't bad at all. That is pretty good.

I personally don't think it to be that good. Especially when half of that 33% was drafted in the 5th round or later.
1st off bruh you suspect.
2nd off Johnny Football was never the 2nd coming of anyone. He was a 3 star dual threat. Those are a dime a dozen these days.
There aren't any star ratings for having "IT".
He's going to be really good. Wish Ohio State had room for him.Absolutely love Jarrett Guarantano. Can't wait to see what he can do. I just have a feeling he'll be special in the future.
this is true.
think, the summer before JF won the Heisman, he was a nobody. Certainly was not even close to being on a pre-season Heisman favorite list, even as a longshot. Came out of nowhere...
Colt McCoy, while never winning it all, was a legendary QB to Texas fans, four year starter, etc. He was a 3 star recruit who only got to Texas because a 5 star flipped to another school.
Actually, he beat out the 5 star recruit for the starting position. The 5 star left after he lost the starting position.
He is talking about Periloux. Colt was a split rated QB. Scout 4 star and Rivals 3. Judging a QBs ability to read a defense can be hard at the High School level. Most of them are on quality teams and never have to go past their primary target. It's why the rankings tend to favor the physical traits. Plus you never really know how much work a kid will put in the film room. I think the best saying for most of these guys is the following:
Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard
Actually, he beat out the 5 star recruit for the starting position. The 5 star left after he lost the starting position.
He was. I wouldn't trust anyone out of that Fairy Farm, DLS.We haven't had good success with Elite 11 QB's. I'm pretty sure Shane Morris was an Elite 11.
As was Devin GardnerHe was. I wouldn't trust anyone out of that Fairy Farm, DLS.
Curiously, none of the top 3 qb's at Ohio State made the Elite 11.
The final Elite 11 QB's have been determined.
Shea Patterson (Ole Miss) is the MVP... the other 10 QB's in alphabetical order:
Shane Buechele (Texas)
KJ Costello (Stanford)
Jacob Eason (Georgia)
Feleipe Franks (LSU)
Jarrett Guarantano (Tennessee)
Dwayne Haskins (Maryland)
Malik Henry (Florida State)
Brandon McIlwain (South Carolina)
Brandon Peters (Michigan)
Anthony Russo (Rutgers)
Conference Breakdown:
SEC - 5
B1G - 3
ACC - 1
PAC - 1
Big XII - 1
It's nice to see the two newest members of the B1G getting themselves an Elite 11 QB recruit.
When do the Elite 11 guys announce the standings? That was just the 247 guys. Their MVP didn't finish above 5th the preceding 4 days, so the coaches might be significantly different
My OP IS the official list released by the Elite 11... notice their Twitter handle/symbol. The Elite 11 official list is only in alphabetical order this year (plus the MVP).
The 247 list is a little different and actually has numerical rankings too.
The 247 list:
The 247Sports Final Elite 11
As you can see, the 247 list features Jawon Pass instead of Jarrett Guarantano.
