Dare I say...that the stars might be aligning to allow the Bengals to finish with a winning record?
The rationale (game by game):
at Kansas City - Win
The Chiefs laid it all out there last night against the Steelers. How much do they have left in the tank on a short week? How many players are looking forward to being on the golf course in a couple of months?
(5-5)
Oakland - Win
The Raiders are a whole bunch of no good. The Bengals know that guy wearing #3 fairly well. If McFadden is still injured at this point, it is a game the Bengals had better win.
(6-5)
San Diego - Win
Starting to stretch a little here but again...the circumstances are playing in our favor. Rivers has no weapons, Norv is a lame duck and the Chargers very well could be out of it by this point. They play the Broncos and the Ravens prior to this. If both are losses, San Diego will be 4-7 and for all intents and purposes, out of the race.
(7-5)
Dallas - Loss
Although the Bengals do very well against the NFC East (for some reason), this is a game that they choke away and leave us shaking our heads.
(7-6)
Philadelphia - Win
The team is done. Andy Reid is done. Another circumstance of a team that is just playing out the string at this point.
(8-6)
Pittsburgh - Loss
We just don't beat the Steelers in meaningful games. I don't anticipate that happening here.
(8-7)
Baltimore - Win
No logical reason to pick the Bengals to win here. Maybe the Ravens have nothing to play for? Don't know...
(9-7)
Now...I'm not "homering it up" or predicting this to be the actual finish, just laying out some circumstances and scenarios that could play in our favor.
