....for the Detroit Red Wings. Ken Holland has just signed the brother of Valtteri Filppula, Ilari Filppula to a one year deal.
DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings apparently have signed 28-year-old Finnish free-agent forward Ilari Filppula, the older brother of Valtteri Filppula.
According to Capgeek.com, Ilari Filppula has inked a one-year deal for $500,000. It's a two-way contract, with an AHL salary of $105,000, if he plays for the Grand Rapids Griffins.

The elder Filppula (5-foot-11, 191) has played his entire pro career in the Finnish League. He won the Jari Kurri Trophy as playoff MVP this season, helping TPS Turku win the championship by picking up two goals and 12 assists in 15 playoff games. He had 12 goals and 37 assists for a team-high 49 points in 58 regular season games.
