I thought it was okay. Nothing spectacular. Thought we were going to get some new season 2 characters but it certainly looks like they were just in it for the one episode. I'll continue to watch because I'm curious what Strand is up to.

Same here. It looks like next week a couple of the airplane mini-episode people are in it.

If the island had water it could have been a good setup.

For this show, this was a decent episode. Still slow and dull, though.

Why change the name of the island to Catrina Island? The town was clearly Avalon (Casino point was clearly visible). Why change the name of the location?

Why did the boat radar beep when the enemy vessel "disappeared"? Further, why did Strand say it was gone when it was clearly still there, and it looked like it was still pointed in their direction?

kim Dickens (Madison) mentioned that she was just doing some filming "the other day" and she was shooting a scene with Strand. This means Strand and Madison both make it at least far into this season.

I'd have to guess they are probably pretty close to finishing filming the season as well.

Also, does anyone know if this first half has 7 or 8 episodes?(S2 will be 15) And is the second half gonna be during the time that S1 was? Late August-September before WD?

Just wondering if any thing was specifically said.

IMO this show isn't good enough yet to string along a series of slow episodes lacking any action... Do they understand that no one is hooked on this show yet and the only reason it is getting viewership is because... well... It is "Walking Dead" related.

Anyway, this episode was fine I guess... Just really didn't advance the plot much, which by now ya'll know I can't STAND IT when they do that!

Funny thing is, it really isn't "Walking Dead" related at all. And the "Fear" part of the title is just terrible.

But enough criticism from me, I'll mention some stuff I liked:

The opening sequence with the zombies rising out of the sea; really nice visual, I liked that a lot. The buildup with them shuffling towards the kids (until they hit the fence) was pretty good as well; reminded me of something you'd see in an old horror movie.

The bit with Mopey Dick killing the zombies through the fence with the axe; I still can't stand the kid (he's probably my least favorite character of the show...Nick has moved up quite a bit), but pent-up anger always has potential.

Nick: Ok, I'm record as saying I hate his junkie ass character; I take it back. As some of us have mentioned here, the actor who plays him (one of these days I'll remember his name) is the best actor on the show. He shows it more with every new episode, imo. There is a lot of depth (no, not Depp) going on there and I think some good stuff is gonna come out of it.

Arighty, one more little potential criticism...if Vic turns out to be just another run of the mill drug or gun smuggler, I will be very disappointed. They made his character interesting and mysterious right from the start, and this would be a huge let down.

And if he turns out to be running drugs, that would be a pretty convenient stash for our little buddy Nick, wouldn't it?

Btw, if it's either, I think it's guns. They wouldn't make Strand's character so irredeemable by having him involved with running drugs.
