My comment was following a bad play i was a little angry. He has come a long way and was very impressive tonight.very happy to see he's progressing and has done a great job learning.
I'd love for him to have the surgery to extract his head from his ass as soon as possible. When he's on, he's on and can be a solid asset, but when he has his rookie moments, it's only our keeper that can bail him out.
Cheers to tonight being the night he gets it back on track.
Normally you can allow the rookies to be... well, rookies. Make mistakes, learn, get better, etc. But with the hole we dug ourselves, they have to be spectacular.
I'm sorry, I hate being this guy, but he was terrible again last night. Completely responsible for Atlanta's second goal, was getting beat all night, had 2 horrific turnovers behind our net in the first that Marty bailed him out on, constantly chasing after guys that are already accounted for by other Devils leaving other guys wide open. And I don't want to hear about the assist on Zajac's deflection, that was all Travis.
Sadly, who could we bench im for? Fraser? No thank you. A concussed Salvador? If we make the playoffs I do not trust this guy to be on the ice for any extended period of time. /rant.
When you play D and you create more quality scoring chances for the other team than you do for your own it is a serious, serious problem (as was the case last night against the Habs). I know he will, but I really hope this guy doesn't make the team next year. Please, please let one or two of our prospects step up big time in camp and make the team.
I know I have the guy under a microscope and may be a bit unfair, but it really is 3 or 4 bad turnovers/pinching at the wrong time/getting caught out position per game that lead to quality chances for the other team.
Some how this guy managed to get onto USA's roster at the World Championships. Then again Al Montoya is their starting goalie, so goes to show you how much of a joke that tournament is. Even after the season I can't get away from this hack. I guess the practice can't hurt.
