Love the TYA "Uncle Jam" and how Alvin Lee shows his versatility other than in blues or R&R.
That tune is very reminiscent and gives a nod to jazz & Wes Montgomery.

I read on Alvin's biography that he originally wanted to play clarinet and Benny Goodman was who he wanted to emulate.

Indeed. The "King of Swing" was the master of the licorice stick. Charlie Christian who played the guitar in Goodman's band was a major influence for Wes Montgomery....so there's that too.
