Even if we're talking about guys last year, are we really sure Drake Maye is a slam dunk?
maybe not slam dunk but he has shown that he can compete at this level. None of the rookies have shown that yet

He was projected to be QB2 or QB3 off the board pretty much throughout the entire draft process last year, results are a bit of a different convo than draft position/draft tiers, imo

Maye got some pushback from Kurt Warner a few others. Chris Simms tier list was:

Tier 1: Caleb Williams
Tier 2: Jayden Daniels
Tier 3: Nix, Penix, McCarthy
Tier 4: Maye

Well, he had some good games on a not-so-good Patriots team, so there's that.

That is definitely jumbled up but Penix and Mccarthy are just huge question marks at this point.

I will say...Nix surprised me A LOT. I knew he had the experience but he had a very solid rookie year. I had Jayden at 1a with Caleb 1b but he now you really just don't know.

Ward had declared for the 2024 draft for a bit. Probably made at least $30 million by waiting and going #1 instead of like #20 last year.

I don't know that any of them are slam dunks. Daniels could be nothing more than the current version of RG3. I thought Caleb was pretty rough. Nix did fine, but wasn't anything great, McCarthy has yet to step in the field, and Maye? A mixed bag.

But based on college career alone..I put them all above Cam Ward. He's much more like Rattler than he is the others.

I haven’t seen him play, but every time he changed teams he went up a level in competition.

I think the Raiders would have picked him last year. Bowers would either go pick 2 or 4 in this years draft imo.
agreed, probably. I was happily surprised when they didn't just go ahead and take Rattler in the first..thank gawd for Bowers and a little restraint

Uh oh. Poor Sam.

Sidenote: I'm feeling sorry for a multimillionaire, while I'm pissed about DoorDash's outrageous delivery fees.

:pound: :pound: :pound:

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Sam Darnold will take “over 90% of the snaps.”

“One of the reasons we hired [Klint Kubiak] was his ability to incorporate the whole roster and really bring out what everybody does really well. Adding Jalen [Milroe] is a part of that,” Macdonald added. That’s a pretty revealing quote, and while we blurbed Macdonald talking about how Jalen Milroe isn’t an option in a Taysom Hill role, it sounds like Milroe will at least have some package of run-play installs. If those plays come near the goal line, it’s possible that Darnold will suffer reduced fantasy viability in superflex leagues this year. With the Seahawks not married to Darnold by contract in 2026, there’s already some inherent benching risks to consider as well. Darnold should still open the year as the starter, but he probably needs to perform well to stay on it all season.
