The Athletic’s Dan Pompei believes
Since week 18 ended, i have seen so many insider, league sources, and team coverage experts make so many claims about coaching desitinations that most turned out to be blatantly FALSE.

And if it comes from the Athletic, YardBarker, or Sports Mockery... cant believe it as factual.

the Athletic is such a hack show..sadly about 1 of 9 nuggets actually does become truth so every now and again it's worth paying attention.

I would imagine that if Ben Johnson wants to remain a HC for any extended period of time, he will give Caleb whatever he earns, when he earns it.

Apparently, this is a done deal.

Everyone on the Jets D is on their knees praising Jesus.

The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt reports “barring anything unexpected” the Jets will hire Lions DC Aaron Glenn as their new head coach.

The Jets and Aaron Glenn have been flirting with each other through the coaching cycle and the Divisional Round elimination of Glenn’s Lions is speeding things up. He interviewed with the Jets on Tuesday and is expected to be named their head coach soon. Rosenblatt adds the Jets’ staff “has been operating as if it will get done” and the team is “informing candidates that they are going in another direction.” Glenn has been the Lions’ defensive coordinator since 2021, keeping the team afloat through major defensive injuries this season, prior to the playoff exit. The 52-year-old will be a first-time head coach, faced with rebuilding the Jets after a short-lived Aaron Rodgers era.

I don't think next season will be a good one for the Jags...

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Jaguars fired GM Trent Baalke.

The good news is that the Jags can now attract the top head coaching candidates of this hiring cycle.

They’re all gone? Oh.

Jags owner Shad Khan initially chose to retain Baalke and fire head coach Doug Pederson after another failed season. He later expressed some flexbility on retaining Baalke if it prevented the team from landing a new head coach. Despite Baalke being an obvious deterent for potential hires, Khan held strong and kept Baalke in town, only to watch both Lions coordinators take jobs elsewhere and Bucs OC Liam Coen turn down Jacksonville to stay in Tampa Bay. These decisions made the message to Khan undeniable. Baalke had to go. Now the Jags get to pair their next head coach annd general manager together, hopefully building some cohesion within the building. Baalke’s run in Jacksonville ends with a 25-43 record plus an iconic playoff win over the Chargers two years ago.

Raiders hiring a 74yr old head coach.

They really love the whole crypt keeper theme they have going. Good news, highly doubtful Carroll will fuck up the super bowl play calling this time around.

A little shocked he didn't go back to college now that you can pay players legitimately

Yeah, don't think he'll have to worry about play calling in the super bowl

I kinda like it, tbh. Hard for them to do anything without a QB, though.

Thankfully they got rid of their young, defensive minded, control the clock HC and brought in an innovative HC with new ideas. No way they'd just kick Pierce to the curb and hire another defensive minded, control the clock HC...

the only thing I'm more hopeful of today than I was yesterday, is that I don't think Pete Carrol will push to draft Shaduer Sanders- but I could be wrong

As a Broncos fan, love this hire.

I really hope everyone doesn't start piling on Brian Schottenheimer.

The dude is just trying to get ahead and I wish him well.

As for anything else, we all know that Jerra is solely responsible for the mess that is the Cowboys.

Kevin O'Connell, please take note.

Trade Hock for this guy immediately.

Thank you.

The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec writes that the Ravens could consider trading or extending Mark Andrews this offseason.

A wide gamut of possibilities. The basic crux of the situation is that Andrews has a $17 million cap hit and moving on from him would save the cap-strapped Ravens $11 million in cap room. Zrebiec writes that it “seems highly unlikely” Andrews would be released, but that the team could consider trading him “if they can get back quality draft capital in return” or extending him in a move that would lower his 2025 cap figure. Ominously, Zrebiec ends the section talking about Isaiah Likely entering the final year of his rookie deal and writes “it would be very hard to have both Andrews and Likely on big-money tight end deals.” It sure reads like there’s some rubber that needs to meet the road on Andrews’ contract this year, even if, as Zrebiec concedes, it would “be nearly impossible to say the Ravens would be better” without Andrews.

I would MUCH prefer Hock

You can have him. Biggest underachiever I've seen in a long time.
The 25 games he had with Cousins under center, 150+ catches, just shy of 1500 yards. He sure was a disappointment upon his return from injury this past year with Darnold around though

He also got hurt at the end of last season, very likely he was never 100% this season

This just in, every player in the NFL could potentially be traded or have their contact extended at any given moment, including Mark Andrews, even after those playoff blunders
