Called out 3 years ago!! Well done on ravens PR team. True sign that Ray Rice was cooked, they would've covered for him if he was still good

Mike McCarthy is still unemployed, right?
But Pete Carroll is not.
Hmmm.

Hmmm.
McCarthy recently declared that he is not interested in a coaching job for the upcoming season.

Apparently he's taking the year off.

Cant blame him.
Not a huge fan of his but his record is impressive to me. I'd feel snubbed, all the while secretly hoping the Cowboys turn into Cowpies.

As I've stated before, I can't help but kinda root for Brian Schottenheimer.

That said, I've already gotten sick of Jerrah and Steven mentioning "Shotty" in every other quote.

I've lived in and worked with many dysfunctional families throughout my years, but this is the most amazing thing I've ever been witness to.

Thank gawd he brought us the 90's dynasty, and he does assemble exciting talent that can entertain on a regular basis, or he'd be utterly unbearable.

I mean he's unbearable, don't get me wrong, but he still obviously cares about the product, the 'try hard" is there he just cannot get it through his head that he is the road block

So many years in the Norris when Detroit, Minnesota and that other team weren't exactly formidable opponents.
Add in Rodgers/Adams in their prime, and you got a nice head start.

He's won more Superbowls than all Bills coaches combined, but I still think he gets way too much credit on his record. What else is there, I guess...

Its a good argument. I can see both sides. I dont recall the Vikings or Lions defenses, but the Bears had decent defenses while McCarthy was in GB. So his offense still had to produce points.

Not to go off on a tangent but the accolades thrown George Seifert's way after inheriting a loaded Niners team from Walsh... now that is a head start. Seifert could have been Eberflus and gotten wins.

Da Bears.

Bears hired former Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy for their vacant RBs coach position.

Bieniemy joins Ben Johnson’s staff in Chicago amidst a complete retool of the coaching ranks. He coached for the UCLA Bruins in 2024 after a one-year stint as the offensive coordinator for the Commanders and a five-year stint with the Chiefs during the early portion of Patrick Mahomes’ career. The hiring appears to be a leap of faith by the Bears after Bieniemy was fired after just one season in each of his previous two positions across multiple levels, with Bieniemy now looking to reestablish a coaching presence in the NFL.

Cooper Kupp to be traded "immediately"

Interesting phrasing used by Cooper.

Let that speculation begin

Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell said Sam Darnold “earned the right to be a free agent” when asked about the possibility of re-signing him this offseason.

O’Connell said the team’s goal was to win a championship while adding that Darnold “is going to be a huge part of it when we do.” When asked to clarify his comments by ESPN’s Kevin Seifert after the news conference, O’Connell said his previous comments were made “in the spirit of answering a question about Darnold’s season.”.... he also said the team is excited about J.J. McCarthy and where he’s at in his rehab as he looks to return from a knee injury that ended his rookie campaign in the preseason.

My Little Orphan Annie coachspeak decoder ring translates this to mean-
Darold is done in Minnesota

When ever there is an ongoing legal case, dont the lawyers say something like: "because of the current litigation, i am am not at liberty to share any details at present."

It would almost be better if NFL coaches adopted this answer. I applaud O'Connell (and other coaches) who try to answer questions honestly. But their answers usually create more questions.

Like the old lawyer joke: How can you tell when a lawyer is lying?

His lips are moving.
