Dionte with the trifecta of releases this season.
That guy might have the craziest season from a fantasy standpoint I've ever seen without an injury. First two weeks, unstartable with Bryce Young being so terrible, Next four games averages 18.3 points per game and is a locked in WR1. Gets traded to Baltimore and not only isn't startable, but isn't even rosterable. After week 6 he has 2 catches for the rest of the season. Absolutely crazy. I wonder where he winds up and if he even gets drafted from a fantasy standpoint. Kind of reminds me of the crazy plummet to nothingness by Allen Robinson.

Wow.

Ravens claimed WR Diontae Johnson off of waivers from the Texans.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter carefully broke down what is ultimately a brilliant “procedural move” by the Ravens. Johnson is not eligible to play in this post-season and will not be “awarded” to the Ravens until after the Super Bowl. Schefter notes Johnson “qualifies as an unrestricted free agent this offseason and, if he signs with another team, he factors into Baltimore’s compensatory pick formula, potentially helping it obtain an additional draft pick in 2026.” Schefter adds that Johnson “likely won’t step foot back into the Ravens’ facility. But he now can help Baltimore in the off-season.”

Holy shit, that is genius. Every other GM in the league should kicking themselves for not thinking the same thing.

I agree, it's brilliant for the Ravens.

Diontae must be sitting there saying "wtf?"

it would be hilarious if they ultimately use that compensatory draft pick on a WR that ultimately ends up taking his would-be roster spot. Diontae must have some serious mental health problems for the Texans cutting bait on him while still being on their playoff push.

Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said J.J. McCarthy (knee) has resumed on-field training.

and the GM refused to back Darnold as part of the team's '25 plan. he didn't say either way, but it's telling when your talking about a QB- usually you either know you want the guy, or you know you don't. Non comital answers, to me, are usually a sign of a big fat NO

Darnold shitting the bed in the last two games(which were games the Vikings needed to win) change the view on Darnold IMO. Now the Vikings would view him as insurance and a back up if the cost was right only. He plays well those last two games and the Vikings win, think they would see him as competing to start next year. Darnold cost himself millions with those last two games.

Hard to see any rationale for keeping the “hot” veteran free-agent QB who couldn’t get you over the hump in the playoffs and would block your high-value prospect.

Well, @averagejoe, here ya go.

Bears hired Lions OC Ben Johnson as head coach.

Just hours after it was reported that Johnson would be finalizing his interview schedule, Johnson appears headed for the Windy City. ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report it, as any rumors of Johnson being the next coach of the Raiders can be laid to rest just days after he was being hyped as the favorite to land in Vegas. Johnson will now be tasked with helping Caleb Williams and the Bears take the next step after a tumultuous 2024 that featured multiple offensive coordinators and head coaches for the No. 1 overall pick of last year’s draft. During his three years in Detroit, Johnson’s offense consistently finished in the top five in yards and points per game and led the league with 33.2 points per game this season. Known for his elaborate schemes and ability to create room for his receivers to operate, Johnson is the exact kind of coach many believed Williams would need to reach his full potential as a pro after entering the league as one of the highest touted prospects of the last decade. Johnson will now take the upcoming days to round out his staff as he prepares to embark on his much-anticipated first season as a head coach.
