These kind make me wince watching that ankle turn. Had a spiral fracture on tibia right above my ankle about a decade ago, took roughly 6 months to be able to play soccer and basketball but I didn't have access to state of the art treatment and I'm not the athlete Pollard is so hopefully he's ready for next season
Right now they're saying high ankle sprain. I swear, watching that replay I was thinking broken for sure.

This was bound to happen once I traded for him. Sorry guys.

not a career ender by any means, but really puts a major damper on his off season.
with how explosive he is in the run and pass game, there's a team out there licking their chops, knowing that they get a chance for a discounted sticker price on a stud RB

No franchise tag from Jerry?

that'd tie up a HUGE amount of cash at the RB position. Franchise value for a RB is sitting at just under 10 mil, and Zeke is already tkaing up over 16 million in his '23 number.

Nothing shocks me with Jerra, but if they do use a tag, my best guess would be that it'll be on Schultz, or defensively with Brown or Fowler Jr.

Designating Zeke a post June 1st cut saves Dallas just under 11 million, let Pollard walk, draft Bijan Robinson in the late first. Simple solution that makes far too much sense to ever come to fruition.

$11.8mil dead cap hit if they cut him this year....feel like he's staying in DAL for at least one more season before they make a change, unless he reworks his contract to a more team-friendly position for the next 4 years

That's if the cut him pre June 1st, if they designate the move post June 1st, cap hit is 5.8, save 10.9 against the cap..at least as per overthecap.com. and if that's the case, that's a no brainer move

I def don't fully understand all the nuances of the dead cap $$s vs current year cap hit and how that plays out when players are cut. I thought when the Rams cut Gurley it was the following season that got hit with the big dead cap amount that they needed to clear off their books, but that also could've been prior to June 1st

I don't fully get it either, and I only know what I see on places like over the cap. I've read things like this- Understanding The Post-June 1 Designation
and I kinda sorta get it, but, basically its a 'well whatever just feed me the numbers' type of understanding on my part..lol

...provided Bijan falls to them. Gibbs would work too though.

True, I guess I'm basing that assumption on the recent trend to not invest #1's on RB's from virtually everyone.

Yeah, but Bijan's hype train is on full blast lol, being called the best RB prospect since Saquon. I've seen mocks with him anywhere from 10 to 31, so who knows...

agreed fer sure, but what team in the top 20-something would invest that #1 in him given the current climate? Not at all saying anyone shouldn't, just guessing they won't, which would leave him on the board for whatever mid 20's pick Dallas has, and he still goes in the first.

Of course that's still like domino number 3 or 4 in my fantasyland, after they cut Zeke and let Pollard walk (and don't sign a Jacobs or other big name FA)

It does seem like Dallas should invest in one. Maybe an argument for Detroit looking into one but...eh...they really need defense. Tampa Bay needs a QB but they could invest in one. Probably a luxury pick for Philly, Chargers or...Cinci?..but I could see them finding a way if they think it wins them a Super Bowl.

It also wouldnt stun me if Carolina ends up with Carr and Bijan. If Carolina trades up with Arizona for a QB then maybe that puts Arizona in play for Bijan but I think Arizona is in for a deep rebuild so I dont think they'd take him.
