How do you think Minnesota with Justin Jefferson is feeling right now with these contracts? By the time it gets to him in a few years he will surely be the first $30 million a year receiver and then the next year Chase will probably be cashing in more than that. Obviously a lot can change in a few years, but I don't envy their positions either with this crazy ass wide receiver money being thrown around.

those dollars without a doubt impacted the WR rush in this year's draft and I expect it to continue.

should make the game more fun - more WRs are seemingly decent enough to contribute early in their careers than ever before, perpetuating the cycle of the studs getting traded or switching teams after they want the big payday

CEH's path to meaningful touches keeps dwindling.....

KC now has a better running RB and a better receiving RB on their roster, and the receiving back has experience and success in the system.
Really starting to seem like they realize they f'd up taking a one-hit wonder RB over J Taylor.

Whoopsies Oops GIF
Its not really the small sample size as to why they missed on CEH. They just mis-evaluted him entirely. Making college tacklers looks silly isnt an NFL skill. see: Kadarius Toney, Rondale Moore.

For sure, I don't know CEH college injury history but if Nick Brossette is getting the touches and you aren't, you prob won't be good in the NFL

Who TF is Nick Brossette?

My lack of college watching/analysis since having kids the last 5+ yrs prob showing here

Kids have limited my college fb knowledge, too. I just mostly look at the draft.

Looking at the Chiefs RBBC and I think Jet should probably need to see someone else slip up before he gets reliable touches. Having him for special teams and/or as a 3rd RB isnt bad. Jet follows his blocks and seems like a reliable receiver. In my mind it doesnt damage CEHs stock but im lower on him than the consensus so if it hurts the consensus opinion then thats probably a good thing

he's never fallen far enough in ADP for me to end up with him, and since I have him outside my top 30, not looking like I'll have any exposure this year. much rather wait a few more rounds and get Rojo if I really want a KC RB

side note for my middle america folks - just had a case of Gates Extra Hot shipped to the house for BBQ season. I've been to about 6-7 bbq places in middle TN, nothing comes close to my favorite spots in St Louis (Adam's Smokehouse/Pappys/Bogarts) or KC (Gates/ABryants/OK Joes)

WARNING: Rookie hate post coming...

Imagine the NFL with 200 teams. This is D1 college football. Easy for the better players to rise to the top. Not as easy in the next level.

Im listening to PFF defend CEH and hype his ADP up next year and the big argument is the number of injuries he has been battling and how he overperformed the number of targets he was getting. But this is the same type of argument you'd use to justify taking...lets see...Baker Mayfield next year. Thats a gamble and a half. With someone like Saquon Barkley, you know he is at least getting touches and he had literal top tier college film so there is at least more upside to chase even if the Giants offense was the worst last year. Chiefs offense next year could in theory have plenty of mouths to feed and also simultaneously not be as good as its been with Hill in there. I suspect CEH is going to drop in my money league locally because most Chiefs fans I know are even lower on him than I am. But I could also see CEH getting boosted nationally if reports come out about 'how he looks better than ever.' Im not going to get sucked in, though, because he is likely an injury prone player at his size and style.

I'm in mid-missouri currently and there is nothing close to the KC BBQ. I think Woobly Boots down at the Lake of the Ozarks is pretty good but nothing I've had in Columbia or Jeff City is noteworthy. Gates is amazing, Joe's is pretty darn good, and I think JackStack is actually the best restaurant that has BBQ but maybe not the best BBQ if that makes any sense.

I mean they would blind to the fact that he is an immediate upgrade over Darnold. It's just money has been holding this up for so long. I would be thrilled if CAR paid half his salary, seems like a longshot though. Maybe add in a mid round pick or mid + late

Can a player rescind his contract?
Just asking.
I mean, if Mayfield sees his contract as an stumbling block, and he wants to play somewhere else, other than his agent advising him against it, is there an reason he cannot?

isn't that why Brett Favre and Carson Palmer "retired" before switching teams?

Teddy Bridgewater was QB19 when he was in Carolina. CmC was healthy. Baker was QB17 that year on a good Browns team. Hard for me to get excited about Baker in fantasy on the Panthers.
I don't think you get excited about Baker, but, it gives a guy like Robbie Anderson a slightly more respectable floor and a somewhat reasonable chance of achieving a decent ceiling from time to time.

Isnt Robbie Anderson the most vocal Baker Mayfield hater in the NFL?

Perhaps, ive seen the retirement stuff, but I personally havent seen anything from him specifically geared at Mayfield, but very likely i just missed it.
He's better than Darnold though

Yeah I'm not sure that is a possibility, that would be drastic though. It seems like Carolina knows what they have in Darnold and Rhule is already on the hot seat, it makes sense.

he can do whatever he wants as long as browns agree to it but not sure how that effects the salary cap:suds:
