Don’t tell them I said this :heh: , but I’ve always had a lot of respect for their fans… even if they can be some of the most obnoxious fans to deal with in person. They’ve had a rough couple of decades, worse than anybody, and yet they still show up every year bright eyed & bushy tailed like the previous 22+ years haven’t been an absolute nightmare. That fan base is ruthlessly loyal and they’ve had every reason not to be.
My view and what I have to say about the fans suddenly “giving up on the team”..that’s the easy way out. If you don’t like Watson, so what. You aren’t going to like every player on your team, I get he is the QB but if he wins, it won’t matter. That’s how it is. He will be praised if he wins on the field, off the field you don’t have to like the guy. Probably comparable to Big Ben in his early years, I’m sure a fair share of Steelers fans didn’t care for him…now he is getting praised. Time heals all wounds.

If I wanted to give up on CLE, I would have done that a long time ago lol

Big Ben won two super bowls before ever being accused of anything..he had substantially more credits in the bank to more easily appease the general fan base.
The whole thing was largely forgotten by many within a few years

If he wins CLE just one SB, he will be a hero. That’s like 4 or 5 SB’s to Pittsburgh

You are correct… he won his 2nd Super Bowl after the 1st sexual assault incident. June 2008 was the Tahoe golf tournament incident. But the civil suit wasn’t filed until July 2009, just months removed from beating the Cards in XLIII.

I don’t think anyone soured on him until the nightclub incident. That happened in March 2010, and he hadn’t even settled the 1st civil suit yet… Ugly times. But he did take the team back to the super bowl so nobody really cared.

Forgot he had 2 different incidents! That’s a pattern of behavior. 2 is as good as 24 lol

Not sure if this belongs in here or the non-FF thoughts thread... but AJ Dillon looks like a monster

I mean he's been a monster for awhile, even at BC but as long as Aaron Jones is in GB he is limited. I would like to see him as a #1 though, I think he could put up big numbers

that's weird, I thought Aaron Jones was GB's WR1 and Dillon was their RB1 now that they shipped Adams to LV

CEH's path to meaningful touches keeps dwindling.....

KC now has a better running RB and a better receiving RB on their roster, and the receiving back has experience and success in the system.
Really starting to seem like they realize they f'd up taking a one-hit wonder RB over J Taylor.

Whoopsies Oops GIF

Not sure what to think yet. They do deploy a lot of different looks but man... What a mess of a RBBC for FF... CEH, Jones, Gore, and now McKinnon...

Figure It Out What GIF by CBC

I remember my initial reaction to Davante & Tyreek's contracts... "Signing DJ is going to be painful"

How do you think Minnesota with Justin Jefferson is feeling right now with these contracts? By the time it gets to him in a few years he will surely be the first $30 million a year receiver and then the next year Chase will probably be cashing in more than that. Obviously a lot can change in a few years, but I don't envy their positions either with this crazy ass wide receiver money being thrown around.

The Athletic's Vic Tafur believes a bell cow role for Josh Jacobs is "unlikely" in 2022.

Tafur went as far as to suggest new head coach Josh McDaniels believes rookie Zamir White is already a superior option to Jacobs and Kenyan Drake. Both Raiders veteran backs will likely be gone after the 2022 season, Tafur said, and the team doesn't see Jacobs as an every-down back in part because he's struggled through a litany of injuries during his three years in the NFL and has shown no explosion as a runner. Former Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew, now an NFL Network analyst, said White fits well with McDaniels' no-frills running scheme. The Raiders are "not that creative a running team, they don’t create explosive plays in the running game — they’re like downhill, A-gap, a little power, they’re not a zone-stretch team," Jones-Drew said. "And if you watch his tape, that’s what [White] is. That’s what he does well.” Drake and former Patriots RB Brandon Bolden, meanwhile, could share pass-catching duties in what could be a maddening backfield for fantasy purposes.

So much of what is said this time of year is complete crap, but saying that a 4th round running back has already passed both of the incumbents seems even a little ridiculous although as a Jacobs owner I wouldn't exactly be getting the warm and fuzzies over a report like this.
