Craziness.. love the deal for the Patriots, especially since Harris/Stevenson would dominate carries.

I don't get it for the Rams though...I see the need, but, if you wanted an ineffective RB with a chronic knee condition, just sign Gurley and keep the draft picks.
so u think they would be willing to pay gurley twice? :suds:

Haha, right??

I guess I get it. Michel is younger, potentially cheaper, granted, no idea what Gurley would sign for, but possibly Michel is cheaper..and he's on year 3 of his rookie deal which I believe, even after the trade, still has a 5th year option...but...geesh

Stevenson stock went up a notch with that trade. For me is good and bad, good for the leagues I own him, bad for the leagues I have been trying to trade for him.

I've been trying to figure out a package in Old School to trade you for him. However your light at RB depth so I feel it's hopeless.:gaah:

Just traded Gordon and Bryan Edwards for Stevenson and St. Brown. That will hurt in the short run but I should win long term (Dynasty).

I dunno...local Denver peeps are WAY down on Gordon's likely role, and everyone raves about Williams..Stevenson very well may outpriduce him. Edwards is a total wild card,- on a team that utilizes WR's he'd be good, in Vegas?? Not so sure

That would be nice, he still behind Harris and White will get some touches so Stevenson has some obstacles to over come. In any case I was glad to be able to move Gordon before his value was zero ( Like Bells and Gurley's).

Somewhat unrelated, I have 2 leagues in Sleeper. One is a dynasty league. I cannot believe how many owners are picking up preseason "nobodies" because of how well they are doing in preseason.

Coaches are evaluating talent. Hype is at a peak.
And anyone with a blog or internet access is spewing their fantasy opinion.
To me it makes sense that established veterans would get fewer opportunities in preseason.
A fantasy owner really needs patience in preseason not to overreact.

It will be more telling next week when the final depth charts come out prior to the start of the regular season.

You don't need a crystal ball to know Gordon's time as a lead back is coming to a end. So in Dynasty it is dang hard to trade him for any value.

There's definitely something to having patience. But there's also the other side. If you didn't jump on a certain nobody in Jax last year, you missed out on a RB1 performance. In 2018, an undrafted nobody beat out a RB drafted in the third round and had a 1000 yard season in Denver. Thomas Rawls, Russel Wilson, and there's plenty more..its those lightning in a bottle type guys, those rare lottery tickets that pay off, that drive those moves, and if you don't take those risks, you miss out. It all depends on who you're cutting to take those risks as to whether your being boneheaded about it or not. Are you dropping a dude that just wasn't panning out, or are you dropping another dude who maybe you should just wait and see on? If you take these risks, you're going to miss more often than you hit, no doubts. But the hits fell SOOO good.

Agreed. But we still can't expect to know what the head coach is thinking.
Gore and AP were still being used pretty regularly last season. Their combined age was 72.
Gordon was used on 30% of Denver's RZ touches last year. Considering all NFL players, that ranked him 14th overall among RB, WR and TE.

Agree here too. That's why I jumped on N'Orleans' Juwan Johnson in D2.
I was merely basing my original statements on the fact that out of all the Sleeper leagues, after the preseason game, Tony Jones was being added to nearly 65k leagues. Over night, Carlos Hyde got added to over 111k leagues.
I get it that some of these owners may not be as "seasoned" as we are in the fantasy world.

It also makes a huge difference what your roster size is. You can do that in some leagues. I'm in a sleeper league that the rosters are 32 and we don't play a kicker or defense, so with that kind of roster space you can afford to pick up guys like that. In my dynasty and Old School you can pick them up but most likely you'll have to drop them when we have roster cuts. In D1 you can't even pick them up, there's no freaking room for any on those shenanigans.

There’s a certain calculation that can come into play. You may have a bunch of guys that are startable in a pinch but with limited potential. If your starters are weak at a given position, it’s not crazy to drop some of the blah journeymen for a couple of high-ceiling flyers. If they don’t work out you haven’t lost much, but on the off chance they do work out you’ve done your team a lot of good. Really depends on how much wiggle room there is on the bench.

D1 are the ones that REALLY feel good, when you hit, cuz you know you had to risk a valuable roster spot. It's why I'll never forget Thomas Rawls rookie season.

Sony Michel to the Rams makes sense on both sides. Do something to assist the situation with the injury-riddled RB room for LA, and make a roster spot for Rhamandre Stevenson for NE.
Per NBCEdge:

Sean McVay maintained that Darrell Henderson is "still going to have a very big role."

McVay stated that the Rams trade for Sony Michel "doesn't really change the outlook for [Henderson]." McVay could be telling the truth here, but the problem for fantasy managers is that it's unclear what Henderson's role was going to be even prior to the Michel trade.
