Derrick Henry
Prior to Week 14, Derrick Henry was the 34th-ranked running back in fantasy football despite not missing a game. He was utterly unplayable, to the extent that many (slowly raises hand) advocated dropping him at one point in the season.
Like Bill Murray’s classic character in Scrooged, he seemed irredeemable. Sure, maybe he didn’t fire anyone during the Christmas season or give everyone a towel as their holiday bonus, but fantasy owners had every right to be upset. But whether it was being visited by several ghosts or Dion Lewisslowly becoming less effective, Henry turned everything around in the end. With his preposterous showing in Weeks 14 and 15 and his strong effort in his final fantasy effort of the year, Henry single-handedly dragged many fantasy owners to the championship. This end-of-year-showing will likely again result in him being over-drafted next season and fantasy owners wringing their hands for much of the year.
