You know ever since they started this nobody plays in pre-season or does anything shit all these injuries in the first few weeks just keep piling up. You would think the teams would see that and maybe do something about it. Perhaps it isn't a great idea for you to play no game ready snaps and then have to go 100% as soon as the season starts?

Can't risk having our starting RB go down in a meaningless preseason game. But losing our whole LB core in week 1 is ok because the game counted.

Problem is the analytics only focus on how many impacts it takes to lead to injuries, so it actually pushed it the opposite way of common sense (a common problem of analytics that can't account for unmeasurable variables- results that contradict reality)

I’d rather have my guys get hurt in a game that counts.

If you know someone is your starter, there isn’t much use in playing them in preseason. Unless they’re a rookie or you have completely new schemes.

I’m not an analytics guy fwiw.

Dont know about the rest of you, but not much has gone as planned so far. Players getting hurt... WR2 outperforming their WR1 teammates... inferior teams upsetting the better teams....

i'd use caution even on what appears to be a more favorable matchup....

certainly could. It ain't like the panthers are devoid of decent playmakers at the skill positions. But their D sucks almost as bad as Bryce Young. Does the Red Rocket have any fuel left? Maybe, maybe not

I would bet that if we rolled this thread back to early-mid September of 2023, 2022, 2021, etc., we'd find that same exact post from multiple people

My best assumption is that the season is what it is, what's fucked up is what we THOUGHT we knew going into it.
