I was more of a South Hills kind of guy growing up. Canevin Crusaders for the win!

this is completely ignorant of me to say, but i always considered the south hills to be the blue collar, pittsburghesse speaking, ignorant themselves, group of people in pittsburgh.. i dont have a ton to go on, my step dad's family is from the south hills and they're kinda like that.. and they're pittsburgh lifers.. "pittsburgh is better than any other place, bla bla bla, rah rah rah, i've never been anywhere else in my life" types.. that irritated me about pittsburgh

cali was at least as bad though lol

Minny is the only team I could tolerate him going to. It would suck losing him but I can understand the whole family and personal life thing. Other than them I just don't think any team can offer much more than what the Devils are offering. If he goes to a division rival for a few million extra than I will lose a ton of respect for him.

As a non-Devil fan any team in the West or back to the Devils would be fine by me. If not with the Penguins. BUT I can see how you would be upset with him in a Penguins uniform.

huh... caps gave #28 to some kid in the development camp.
Semin is considered mopped up?

@dchesnokov
#Caps announced Development Camp roster. They reassigned Semin's 28 to Jaynen Rissling. Fair to say there'll be a new 28 in DC?

Semin said he wasn't coming back.

You're thinking of Washington County, a few minutes down 79 from Scott/Bridgeville/Carnegie. It definitely applies there.

I see Semin in Montreal (although it could also be the strip clubs just down the street from the Bell Centre)

#RedWings initial offer to D Ryan Suter was $80M 13 years, now up to $90 M. Team wants to keep cap # reasonable - preferably under $7 M.

I've lived in both areas. Not that it's bad, but a lot of the Pittsburgh stereotypes are caused by people that live closer to WV.

If I were to settle down in Pittsburgh, I would look at Mt. Lebanon first probably, and then maybe the North Hills area. Fox Chapel is nice but surrounded by crap and Pittsburgh Mills kind of sucks. Ross Park, while smaller, has a lot more to offer.

Suter is a very good defenseman, but I don't know if he's worth $90 million...

OF COURSE HE'S NOT!!!!

That is why this is all so crazy.

I don't know. I kind of liek the "build a team capable of staying above water and make any big splashes that you can at the trade deadline if need be. Remember, an 8 seed won it all this year.

As a Caps fan, i would like to see the 20mil spent signing Green to a 4-5 year deal, and extending Alzner for a decade, and signing Carlson for a decade. Save the rest (maybe pay holtby too) and like it stack up for the deadline.

Pittsburgh Mills is the worst mall ever.

As for areas there are enough pockets all around and the part that sucks living east if you don't out past Plum it all sucks. Then you are in hillbilly country.

For the north go above Ross Park to live and you can go all the way to Cranberry without any issue. Then after that once again hillbilly country. Then when you get to Butler if you are not from Butler you are an outsider. Scary to think how many people that live there are from there.

We have an area in Alberta like that too - I call it Edmonton.

WOW that is a huge overpayment.

This FA year is starting to remind me of the Gomez, Briere and Drury overpayment FA year.

He is if you just lost arguably one of the top 5 defenseman of all time to retirement and need capable bodies to help replace the loss.

Obviously no one is going to replace Nick, at least not until Kevin Lidstrom is draft eligible.

My point is Mark Giordano is making $4 million per season and yes I can admit that Suter brings more to the table than Giordano. The question is does he bring 3+ million per season more to the table?
