Mikael Samuelsson is getting $3M per year on his 2 year deal. Full no trade.

With the Wings.

I know the Wings have a boatload of cap space, but that seems kind of pricey to bring Sammy back to the Winged Wheel...

 to be honest if he leaves nj joining the flyers would be the scariest fit for parise.I dont even want to think about a Parise Girioux combo

that would be a true nightmare scenario :scared:

So apparently when Canucks defensemen get old and broken down, they head to Tampa Bay...

Zach Parise will wait until Monday to decide where he will play next season.

It appears returning to the Devils is still an option for Parise, but the 27-year-old left wing fielded a host of offers today from teams as an unrestricted free agent. Pittsburgh, Detroit, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Carolina, Winnipeg, Ottawa and Montreal were among the teams to make bids.

Reports have some of the offers reach 13 years and exceeding $100 million in total. There were also reports of Parise’s camp asking or a signing bonus of $24 million spread over the first two years of the deal ($12 million for each season).

Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News and Observer reported that Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford was told by Parise’s agent, Wade Arnott, his team was not likely to be on Parise’s “short list” of finalists.

I just left another round of messages for Devils GM Lou Lamoriello, Parise and Arnott.

There hasn’t been a lot of news on goaltender Martin Brodeur today. Chicago, Florida and Toronto are among the teams reported to have expressed interest.

Brodeur’s agent, Pat Brisson, again has not returned messages

Carolina is out

--------------------------------------

Despite attempts from Rutherford, head coach Kirk Muller, assistant coach John MacLean (who spent nine seasons as a coach with the New Jersey Devils) and potentially Eric Staal, the Canes are no longer in the running for Parise, according to Rutherford.

“I believe he’s going to go another way, but he hasn’t made his final decision,” Rutherford said on Sunday evening. “There’s a little disappointment, but certainly going in we understood there were a lot of teams involved. I feel we took a good shot at it. We did everything we could under our guidelines. I’m not surprised. Would have been great for us to get him.”

I was thinking the same thing, with Tootoo does that mean now Hudler probably won't be back? Or was there never plans on him returning.

Anyone else kind of shocked that Detroit would sign (and overpay) that Tootoo piece of shit?

not to mention $1.9 million for healthy scratch Tootoo.
that seems a bit ridonculous.

good for Salo. there's no freakin' way he would have gotten that payday from the Canucks, let alone on a 2-year overage deal.

I'm hoping he's trade bait? Wouldn't stand hearing that whistle all season

To be fair, Flyers "UFA" signing of Leighton is more so of a re-sign.

Salo's $3.75-million salary at ages 38 and 39 matches the most he has ever made in his career.

I really don't understand the Sammuelson signing either. He broke Datsyuk's wrist like 2 years back by tripping him up then didn't Sammy rip into some of the wings Swedes for not being on the Olympic team 2 years ago also?

Ray Whitney was just on NHL network and didn't say it outright, but hinted that the uncertainty around the ownership is a driving factor in why he signed elsewhere and also a big reason why Doan is looking too.

What a mess out there.

I thought Sammy was a fucking turnover machine and a complete waste of time on the power play? :noidea:
