23/30 teams have signed a UFA today. BOS/BUF/CGY/VAN/NJ/STL/WSH teams that haven't as of 6:45EDT

Throw LA in that list as well.. Penner was a resign for 3.25! Great deal!

With these signings, Paul Martin just became more movable...and less likely to move in the same sense.

Ray Whitney was just on NHL network and didn't say it outright, but hinted that the uncertainty around the ownership is a driving factor in why he signed elsewhere and also a big reason why Doan is looking too.

What a mess out there.

Doan said heas waiting til the 9th (?) for ownership to clear up before he decides I think.

Jason Garrison will get the biggest percentage raise today and will be hugely overpaid.

He will go from 700k i believe to between 4 and 5 million.

Ahem...

Yeah, smart move for him... The longer he'll wait, the more he'll get paid anyway, IMO.

Although, there's pretty much no chance of him going back to Phoenix now with the moves they've made today (and Whitney gone too), is there? /shrug

We got far more from him tahn I thought we would. Was not in favor of bringing him back. He gets lazy in a hurry and doesn't snap out for a while.

Clarkson, that was about Poni....but doesnt that always sound like Kovy to you?

Hey, maybe some people do actually believe in the hometown discount still

I dunno, I think the only way the Flyers can fit Parise in would be to get rid of Briere. Or Bryz...

While that's certainly telling it like it is ... I would have liked to hear ray say "at this stage in my career and after I lost so much money thanks to Len Barrie and bear mountain I'm chasing the cash"

Love the overpayment talk about garrison everyone overpays getting a low cap hit is worth and extra year for length. He has to prove still but lets hold judgement

@TSNBobMcKenzie

Garrison left $ on table - was offered "Wideman money" elsewhere - but wanted to play for hometown VAN, which held firm on internal $ scale.

Wings done for the day. Holland said they're still in the mix for Suter and Parise.

if the wings do manage to get both, holland is going to have a lot of roster sorting to do
