Well damn... We are still in striking distance
That's really embarrassing for him that he can't catch pretty basic fly balls. He stabs at the ball and only opens his glove at the last second like the kid in little league that they stick in right field because he can't play a lick. Major League players of any position should be able to make a simple catch while jogging in.And that's why you don't put Napoli in LF.
I wish MLB would adopt standards by which all stadiums had to adhere to. No ridiculous amounts of foul territory, no artificial turf covering cement which injures countless players, no 290 ft. home run opportunities, etc. I'm sick of our team having to travel to these absolute shitholes and play games there under ridiculous conditions. I'm all for different stadiums having different personalities, features, and slightly varying measurements. But some of these stadiums should be condemned.

Differences are fine. Playing conditions which cause injury or completely alter the game are not.I kinda dig the differences in each stadium. Makes the game more interesting and exciting and you have to have different strategy each night/series b/c of the different park as well.
On a side note Nap should be nowhere near LF during a major playoff push in September.
But they've been working extensively with him in between games on his fly balls. I can excuse hard to judge balls or long running plays into the gap. But simple fly balls like the one he just missed could and should be caught by anyone over the age of about 14 who has ever played baseball for a few years (regardless of position). It's like he doesn't know how to open his glove and catch the ball. It keeps hitting his glove and bouncing off.You have a point but for a guy that's only had a handful of professional experience in the OF which started a few weeks ago it's something that I'm not surprised. Banny should not have him out there especially in this stadium since there's so much more ground to cover.

Lloyd McClendon would have already challenged that safe call.
