All very possible reasons, but I think it's because Jay Flannelly couldn't get in touch with him.

I do wonder, does Rock really live in MA, or could he be Jay Flannelly in MI?
But BB is a genius, he knows what every other coach is thinking. He is not to blameThe simple fact is Brady lead 3 drives in the 4th quarter into scoring range with his team down 8. Against a very good defense and without a running game, Brady played well enough to win against that punch less Broncos offense. He moved the pats offense when he needed to (with a big assist to the Broncos secondary getting injured).
The reason the Pats lost was coaching decisions where they twice didn't take the points when they had a chance at them. In a low scoring defensive affair, that is a huge sin. The first time that they went for it on 4th was mind-boggeling stupidity on the part of Belichick. The 2nd time is a little more understandable....but the first time they passed on 3 with like 6 min left in the game is a worse coaching call than the Seattle run/pass decision that lost them the SB.
Ehhh ... that's really reaching. That one may never be surpassed on the Utter Stupidity Scale. The reason the Pats lost was coaching decisions where they twice didn't take the points when they had a chance at them. Belichick should be getting absolutely skewered for that decision.

The Pats defense let Denver score how many points after that missed XP? Then, add all of the Pats drives that didn't end with a TD or FG. Plenty of time and opportunities for NE to make up for a missed XP. Its not the kickers fault.Excuse me... had that extra point been made in the 1st quarter, then it would've only been a point difference instead of a two point try for the tie.

Yep, should have read the whole thread before posting. Glad somebody else noticed this.If Bill kicks a FG on either of the two late 4th qtr drives that they turned the ball over on downs, the TD pass to Gronk sends the Pats to the SB.
Even the smartest football coaches are idiots a lot of the time.
The reason he sucked was Demarcus Ware. The guy played one of the best games I've ever seen played. He dominated and was in Brady's face the entire time. I've seen Brady have tough days when the interior linemen get to him but the edge pass rushers usually can't get to him before he checks down and dumps it off.
Ole Hoodie also screwed up not going for that first FG on the 4th and 1. His O line was not holding up well and there was plenty of time left. If he goes for that they would have been in position to win the 2nd time they turned it over on downs.
No issue with going for it the 2nd time, there wasn't much time left so he really had no choice after screwing up the first opportunity
