Sure, Boomer's act is a bit tired and maybe not as good as some of the competition, but he's still an icon in the industry and will forever be the measuring stick for all present and future NFL pre-game & highlight show anchors. Sundays will not be the same.

NFL prime time was a must watch on Sunday nights. Berman was the man back then.

His commentary however, whether baseball or football, was awful.

I choose to remember him for his NFL Primetime days.

Enjoy retirement Boomer

People that jump on the bandwagon of hate for longtime broadcasters and announcers annoy me. Enjoy the next more shitter generation.

I've always liked Boom. His commentary was never stellar, but he didn't annoy me all the time like most of the talking heads do. Well... Only one thing that he always said did.

"THE RAAAAYDAS"

I wish I could have punched him in the mouth one time during that saying.

His gimmick is tired and was worn out 25 years ago. He's been mailing it in since the Clinton Administration. You can tell he puts in as little work as possible and it just getting by on his seniority alone. He should have quit a long time ago or at the very least, put in a quarter assed effort

Never understood the dislike of Boomer. I always liked the dude. Him and Tom Jackson are a great combo!

Dislike...never me.

You can tell he loves the game, because he keeps accepting the invite to Peeble, but the only sport I thought Boomer was clearly a fish out of water covering was the USO Golf tourney.

NFL/MLB...he was entertaining even though his shtick got a little old after awhile.

Good to see him go out on his own terms.

Berman had a box of tissues on his desk as the 2006 NFL draft was underway. Whenever the Seahawks were about to announce their selection, he would grab a tissue and throw it up in the air like a ref would throw a penalty flag. He would say at the time, "The Seahawks are up. It must be penalty time." This was his was of saying Bullshit over the calls in the Seahawks 1st Superb Owl appearance.
