ESPN trade deadline preview

ESPN.com has started its series of trade deadline previews, starting with the AL West. It lists the Mariners as buyers and reminds us that the M's are in a playoff race. In terms of what we're likely to offer other teams, the article doesn't mention anyone that hasn't already been mentioned here. Same with what our needs are (outfielder who can hit and an opportunity to upgrade the starting rotation). Some of the names it lists as possible fits with the M's have been mentioned here before as well (including getting Morales back, even though he hasn't hit well in Minnesota since just after arriving there) and some of the names haven't been mentioned here as far as I know. Anyway, it's an interesting read and is the complete opposite of the Insider article I posted about earlier in terms of what the M's should do going forward and how much of a chance the M's have of at least being in the mix for the playoffs at the end of the season.
