ESPN guy just said Martinez will play bigger role that most think

I'm not sure who the guy was, I just caught the very tale end of it on ESPNU......said when talking to Watson, he told him that one of the big things missing last year in Nebraska's offense was speed at the QB position.

Said that Nebraska has found a way to fit Martinez's speed into their scheme this season and he will be used quite a bit.....

Said "trust me on this one, look out for Taylor Martinez"

For some reason I still have a hard time believing this....

Over on huskerextra there are 2 articles now stating that Martinez has had very impressive scrimmages lately compared to the other QBs and that he's starting to take over in the huddle now.

This is just all weird to me. I didn't think we'd see Martinez play that much.....I figured a couple snaps here and there, but it sounds like he may play a lot more than that

im actually really excited about this if its true, if he truly does look better in practices and is becoming a leader, then good! get him on the field and we will take 4 years of a consistant starter!

o agree with what hawkeye is saying, i think Lee will get majority of the snaps but i think we probably will bring in one of the younger, faster 2 like what tebow did his freshmen year. im not a fan of it but i think it very possibly could happen.

If we can't develop any one of these guys I really have to question our QB coach, more than I do already. Lee has been in the program long enough that there really shouldn't be any QB controversy here.

Face it, some guys are just naturals at what they do. They grasp things others can't.
Lee has not shown that natural side to me yet.
