    Bullshit.

2010 TCU opened the season against a ranked Oklahoma State team and also played another Big 12 team(Baylor) out of conference. Then ran the table in the Mountain West including a #6 Utah team who also had a ranked win to start the year. The 2010 MWC was better than the 2017 AAC. They played and beat #4 1-loss Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl.

TCU had played 2 P5 teams(one ranked) and 2 ranked during the season G5 teams, including #6, before UCF had played their first ranked opponent...on Thanksgiving weekend. TCU also finished 2009 as the #3 team, after going 11-2 and a #11 ranking in 2008, then returned the nucleus of their team resulting in a pre-season #6 ranking in 2010.

Meanwhile, UCF played Maryland who lost to #5 Ohio St 62-14 and #8 Penn St 66-3, FIU and Austin Peay OOC, They finally played their first ranked opponent on Thanksgiving weekend beating #22 USF in a shootout, then need 2OT to beat #16 Memphis in another shootout in the CCG...then beat#7, 3-loss Auburn in a bowl game.

The real question should be how the hell did UCF get to #14 without playing a ranked opponent. Unlike 2009 TCU UCF finished 2016 6-7 and unranked, after going 0-12 in 2015.

I would argue that 2008 Utah,2009 Boise, 2009 TCU and 2010 TCU all had better teams than 2017 UCF. They all had significantly better recruiting classes leading up to their best season, they played significantly better opponents and they all had good season track records leading up to their best season, not an 0-12 and 6-7 foundation of shit.

I don't blame anyone for trying to better their situation, but if the MWC had been able to keep BYU, Utah, TCU and Boise St. in the fold with a middle tier of say Colo St. SDSU, Air Force and Fresno St...that would be a legitimate P6 conference, not this AAC bullshit.

@UCFhonors, did you matriculate at UCF? Earn a degree? If so, will you post a pic of your diploma?

I left UT after one year and transferred to USF in Florida. I grew up in West TN, in a shithole of a tiny town, but finished at USF. I am currently working on a second Masters degree at another institution in Florida.

No such luck. I moved down here originally to be close to my father which is which is why I chose USF.

Very cool. I finished high school in '73 and looked to go to college. I needed financial aid to attend, and the schools that accepted me were coy about what aid I might get. I went to work in the meantime and set my sights on enrolling for Fall term, 1974. In early '74, my father told me he was going to take a job in Nashville. I applied to UT. They accepted me and awarded me all the financial aid for which I applied and threw in $500 from their General Scholarship Fund. I was able to go to college! I enrolled at UT for Fall term, 1974. During matriculation, I changed majors midstream and graduated Spring of 1979. I earned a master's degree elsewhere, but am ever thankful to UT for that initial opportunity.

I made the mistake of going to UT with a few friends. I have always been a Gator fan, yes I rocked my orange and blue in Knoxville, but never really enjoyed my time there. My grades suffered so I chose to put myself in another situation to hold myself more accountable.

Convincingly defeating #4 Bama in the 2009 Sugar Bowl was the icing on the cake. Everyone who wasn't a Bama fan loved that game.

The Bama hate wasn't nearly as strong then, it was mostly Tennessee, Auburn and Florida fans that got their panties wet. Now, everybody is on the bandwagon...which works out to everyone being disappointed every other year...same as Alabama fans...just not the same years...:fencing:

    Not bullshit lol.

Absolutely 09 had an impact on 2010 TCU being ranked where they were. But it still fails to acknowledge how they got that high in the first place considering 09 TCU only played two ranked opponents (#16 BYU and #16 Utah) before losing to #6 Boise State in the bowl game. 2009 TCUs opponent records total 90-74. 2017 UCFs was better. Barely, but better nonetheless.

Also 2010 TCU played #24 Oregon State, not Oklahoma state. An Oregon State team that finished 5-7 (typical fuckin Riley). How are you gauging which conference was better? I mean UCFs opponents had a better overall record and more teams finished ranked.

2010 TCU was ranked inside the top 4 from week 6 on in the AP and week 7 on in the Coaches. Ultimately finishing #2 after the bowl game. Many were clamoring for them to get in, but the BCS wouldn't have it and arguably rightfully so. Their schedule was weak as balls. 2010 TCU played 2 teams that finished ranked (Utah and Wisconsin). Their opponents record totalled 79-85 with one FCS opponent that went 5-6. Nothing to indicate that they deserved to be as high as they were outside of the subjective "eye test". Likewise in 2017, UCF struggled to even break the top 10 (not actually doing so until their bowl with Auburn). They played 3 teams that finished ranked(South Florida, Memphis, and Auburn) and UCF opponent record totals 91-73 with one FCS opponent that went 8-4. UCF also had two games cancelled. Splitting hair here, but UCF also beat Auburn (who beat the NC winner in Bama) by a larger margin than 2010 TCU beat Wisconsin.

Now I am by no means claiming that UCF should have been in the playoff, but let's not act naive and act as though they can simply up and join a different conference at will or that they can schedule anyone and everyone whenever they want. We have all read opinions on how P5 schools will stop scheduling teams like UCF due to the way the playoff sits. There needs to be parity in my opinion and outside of forcing a realignment to arguably even out the conference so no conference has too many great teams at a time, the easiest and most beneficial (as far as fans and money) way is to expand the playoff in such a way that gives the most opportunity. Or G5 should be its own league so they have a real opportunity to win a title like the FCS does.

Well it should be in context and given that UCFHonors has called many people on here t-shirt bandwagoners or something like that, that they are basically a fan of a team when they never went to school there so....
