Auburn did indeed win the West....they also lost to 3 other teams that UCF didn't beat....Clemson, Georgia and LSU, all team with more talent than UCF and all teams Alabama beat.

Kudos to UCF, the Transitive Property National Champions...the only championship they will ever win.

Fuck auto bids. It’s the worst idea possible. G5 can make the playoffs but when their best non-conference game they had the last two years is a 7-7 Pitt. The only other P5 team they have played is 4-8. If Alabama or Clemson or Ohio State played UCF’s OOC schedule we would be mocking them for playing such a shit schedule.

Some of those have gone on to beat very good P5 teams in the BCS or New Years 6. If we have a league with a championship then all teams who compete in that league should have a path to the championship. We still don’t give half the league a pathway. It’s a bogus system.

Unfortunately, this fuck stick has made me so bored with UCF I simply can’t see myself even tuning in to watch them play a single game next season. I’ve had my fill of UCF. When your conference schedule is made up of shitty G5 opponents your non conference schedule better consist of legit P5 opponents and you better be willing to play them on the road without a return game. I actually do agree with this. I think I proved in the past how 'voting' has changed to benefit P5 teams strictly as it pertains to the now playoff. 2011 TCU was ranked inside the top 4 for most of the season and they played a significantly weaker schedule than 2017 UCF played and UCF struggles to even make it into the top 10.

But 8 team playoff?

Try... top 64. Give me a REAL CFB bracket. No bowl games, no CCGs. 12 game season, then in the playoff.

And those teams made the top 4 before bowl games and would have been in the playoffs. UCF is playing garbage non-conference schedule and is not doing anything that they need to do to give themselves a chance for the playoffs.

As much as it pains me to say this I will agree with you on Boise. But TCU has not fallen back into obscurity. Since they moved into the Big 12 in 2012, I would argue they have been the second best team in your entire conference. 2014 finished #3 in the nation and fucking drummed a top 10 Ole Miss team by 40 in their NY6 game. 2015 finished #7 and beat top 15 Oregon in the Alamo. 2017 finished #9 and beat top 15 Stanford in the Alamo. Who’s been better outside of OU? Baylor? OK State? I don’t think so. It’s been TCU. Patterson is a douche to be sure but the fat man has built that program up and can flat out coach.
