Let's say the Giants thought about offering Eli Manning right now — this very moment — for Cleveland's no. 1 pick and a second-rounder in 2015. Which team says no to that trade? Why wouldn't the Giants blow everything up and usher in a full rebuild? Would the Browns give up that much for a QB who turns 33 in January? Can you imagine living in a world where THE CLEVELAND BROWNS started a good quarterback every week? Wouldn't they win the AFC North with him? Could Eli lead them to a no. 3 seed? Can't everyone just say "yes" because the 2013 season would be more fun?

I disagree. Maybe you are unfamiliar with Eli's record.

In 10 years, he's made the playoffs 5 times.......lost 3 of those 5 in the first round, where he threw 2 TDs and 6 INTs.

They won 2 SBs in seasons where they BARELY even made the playoffs, and then the entire team, most notably the defense, started playing lights out.

Eli has ALWAYS been sporadic. He's NOT elite, and never has been. He's inconsistent, and ALWAYS has been.

By this argument, then his older brother isn't elite either. Peyton's been dog poop in the post season. Lucky for him he faced Rex Grossman in the SB so he has at least 1 ring to justify his career.

But we all know Peyton is an elite QB, and so is Eli. Nobody's calling Eli the greatest of all time, but there aren't more than a few QBs in the league with whom a coach would want more than Eli in a big game.

Logic? Try using some.

Peyton is elite because he's consistent.

Eli is not elite because he is not consistent. It's obvious to everyone that watches football. He's been CONSISTENTLY BAD for most of his career. Team wins don't make him elite.

Eli may not ever become elite. Hell right now he isn't even average.

Is Eli Manning Still a HOF

I want to hear from all Eli's fans. Wasn't to long ago they were claiming he belonged in the HOF. Tell me is he still a HOFer?

I'll admit I've never been a fan of Eli's and never thought he was that good of a QB. Because he won two SB all of a sudden Eli was great. He played on two great Giants teams whose defense carried them to the SB championships. If Eli's all that damn good why isn't he helping carry the team when they're not so good. Could it be he's not so good?

I think Jim Plunkett is the only 2x SB winner not in the HoF.

TD-INT....164-198
Yards - 25,882
QB rating - 67.5

Eli currently:
220-159
33,258
81.8

I have never thought of the HOF being based solely on SB rings. I think far too much weight is given to winning championships. They are just part of the overall career of great players and not the only measuring stick. A lot of just pretty good QB's have had a great game in the SB and still don't deserve mention in HOF discussions. Eli has had a couple of good runs with good teams (albeit underachieving teams, at times). They got hot at the right times and seemed to have Belichek and Brady figured out. Eli played well in the 4th qtr of those wins and had some help from receivers making great catches. But when you look at his entire body of work, it is very inconsistent and even mediocre. No way is Eli a HOF'er, imo, and likely never will be, despite the rings. Jim Plunkett is an apt comparison.

Yeah he will get in.. what's his last name again? It is called the hall of fame, not the hall of 'great stats.'

only if his daddy raises enough ruckus for him, because he's never been good enough to deserve it.

Eli needs another Super Bowl win to get in. I would think 3 gets you in regardless of how mediocre / poor your career has been statistically.

I said this Eli is just another plunkett and was told by giant fans i was a hater cant compare yds its too different eras but in those 2 SB wins

Eli 87 QBR and 103 QBR

Plunkett 145 QBR 97 QBR btw 145 is highest qbr in a SB

Both had 2 great years but Eli still has a chance to shine again

It looks like the both have roughly the league average passer rating during the years that they played.

No. I honestly didn't have him as a HOF'er at this point to begin with. He's Joe Flacco, with one more Super Bowl ring.

i see no reason why he wouldn't get into the HOF. His career stats are better than some already in the HOF and he has more SB win than some that are in already as well. Plus name recognition goes a long way. Lets not forget it's also a popularity contest.

He is still a HOFer, his team is bad this year and they are playing even worse. This level of horrendous play is not maintainable.

Eli will be in the special Manning wing of the Hall of Fame. I'm sure his Daddy will make this happen...
