Here's a list of 3000-hit players without a batting title:
Derek Jeter
Eddie Collins
Robin Yount
Lou Brock
Raffy Palmeiro

Jeter belongs in the Hall, sure, just like the argument can be made for Eli (great counting stats in passing yards). New York and the postseason put them both in a place that they probably don't belong, where people are supposed to speak in hushed tones of "getting to watch him play".
Using Jeter to warrant Eli as a HOFer is going to continue down a rabbit hole, but Jeter was a very good SS and as for not gaving a batting title, he was often a spot or two away from #1.

Joe Namath lead the NFL in INTs four times. Eli only lead the league in INTs three times. He's a shoo-in.

Broadway Joe was the first guy that came to mind when I thought "Sure Eli goes in". The numbers don't blow you away like other "Hall of Fame Worthy" QB's. But he had those historic SB wins along with the MVP's... and he played in New York. He shouldn't (and I don't think will) be a first ballot entry, but I do think he goes in.

First Ballot HOF would be a better question.

Jeter was also arguably the best Short Stop in the league at certain times. Ele was never even close to being the best QB.

I heard that Eli in the 13 seasons he played was in the top ten of QB ratings only once. So a top 10 guy 1 season, but like I posted on the previous page, seems like the prerequisite is either 2 SB's or 40k in yards and he has both. I liked Steve Young but he only had 1 ring and only 30k, because he played some years in USFL and then some behind Montana and he got in

Question

People are saying Eli won 2 Super Bowls so he should be in.... Now would you also say the same thing about Brady if the roles were reversed?

My answer - HELL NO anyone would... They'd claim that meant nothing

No one better at the jump throw than Jeter.... No one!!! :D. Only "hate the guy" because he played for the Yankees... Hard to argue he wasn't good

Option 3. The 2 super bowls help his cause but the guy's been a bit average at other times so I don't know.

Career

59.7% Completion Rating
48,214 Yards Passing
320 TDs
215 INTs
83.7 QBR

Ehhh.... Not Hall material imo.... However as people have mentioned he does have two wins in the Super Bowl over the Pats (thank Tyree for that one) and he has played in New York so more exposure and he is Peyton's brother.. Wouldn't shock me if he gets in

Troy Aikman stats:
TDS 165

INT 141

YDS 32,942

RTG 81.6

Completion percent 61.5

If Aikman is in the HOF then Eli definitely makes it. Eli blows Aikman away nearly across the board plus he has the MVP's. Aikman has one more ring. Thats it.

In 12 playoff games, Eli Manning's Giants have topped 24 points just once.

In 5 playoff games, Alex Smith's teams have scored 30+ 3 times.

you know damn good and well that if brady only had 2 rings, there would be plenty of your patriot buddies claiming he's a shoo-in, don't kid yourself. and you know what? if he had the stats to back it up with the 2 wins, then so be it, send him in!

Thats why I asked if he was drinking. When does only having 2 SB wins come in question. Peyton is a first round HOfer because he has all the stats too like Brady. The Hall is looking for 2 SB wins or over 40k in yards and Eli has both. I think like someone mentioned, Stabler might be the only 2 SB winner that isn't
