LOL!!I only ploop when I havta
Don't they all?
Yes but he did come in with all people he knew. And honestly Tommy Armstrong masked the problems at the o line. I think if he knew his schema he should have seen the weaknesses but with a scrambling qb it seems it was masked. Not always. Since he's been here he made major changes to his defensive staff but has done nothing with his offensive staff. The oline has had issues since he's been here and that's on him and Cav. DL is a horrible game caller and his QB who he coaches play has sucked. Tanner Lee has to give up pick six in just about every game. Riley should have dump some of his offensive buddies as well.
Sorry, I wasn't making the connection between the two conversations. I was just trying to say that even year 3 (with his QB) didn't start out great for Franklin. They started 2-2 and then had a pretty ugly OT win over Minnesota before they started playing well. Not sure what you are saying. I had said if this season was a dumpster fire (if things kept getting worse, 5-7) these coaches would understand his firing.
I'm not sure but it seems you are saying that is wrong. You're saying if we are 4-8, 5 - 7 at the end of the year we have to keep him at least one more because James Franklin turned it around after 2-2?
Am I missing something? Because taking a 2-2 start and turning it into 11-3 is nothing like taking 1-2 to 4-8, 5-7.
As for giving the new AD aa chance to evaluate that I agree with but that is not what you are arguing with me. You were saying we would not be able to get good coaching talent because another coach was 2-2 at some point in time.

OK so I am guessing what you were saying is that Riley could pull this out. That would be great but I still don't see what that has to do with not being able to hire a good coach because he finished below 500 with his players and got fired.Sorry, I wasn't making the connection between the two conversations. If he finishes below 500 that won't be as much of an issue, but I still think most coaches would be uncomfortable with a 3 year timeframe for a turnaround, especially since we aren't exactly in a talent hotbed and if Riley gets fired our next 1-2 classes will probably suck.OK so I am guessing what you were saying is that Riley could pull this out. That would be great but I still don't see what that has to do with not being able to hire a good coach because he finished below 500 with his players and got fired.
That's not what I said.So Riley needs more time because if he gets fired the next two classes will suck? That is called delaying the inevitable and we have been doing it for two decades. That doesn't work.
did the Huskers win ??

You would think Riley saw his fill of dual threat QBs playing vs Oregon, enough so he would jump on the train. Perhaps he's just so set in his ways that he's unwilling to change. Remember when Osborne went down to watch Bobby Bowden's Florida State spring practice while trying to pick up new ways to coach? I'll bet some of the younger posters here didn't know that happened.Either that or say hey we need to recruit dual threat QB's
