If you continue with human voting, then you will always have issues. That is why I prefer stats based selection based on the same 10 year span of the player being looked at. I am biased with Edgar because I was able to watch him play just about every game in his career. Maybe that isn't bias, and more like appreciation of talent.
I think the problem is Edgar does have the stats just not the sexy stats. Stats like Hits, Homers and RBIs are what people are probably hung up on for a guy that was purely a DH. If he gets to like 3000 hits or 400 homers it likely wouldn't even be an issue but unfortunately he didn't see the Bigs till he was what 26? And its not like that was his fault either because his stats in the minors were good.
