Many things can change and we could come out just be a pile of poo, BUT...looking at our schedule, I think we could open 3-1 (though we'll probably end up 3-3 by the bye).

I was thinking 2-4 at the bye. We beat Seattle and Cincinnati.

I just can't see us losing to the 'Girls in San Fran. I can however see us starting 3-0 and then losing our following 3 games. I think the Tampa game we could possibly win since its in SF......and we don't play at Detroit until week 6, meaning Stafford may be injured by that time. A lot has to go our way but best case scenario I think we could start 5-1.

That's pretty much how I see it. Might start 3-0 but then hit a rough stretch. We played Tampa at home last year, too, and they owned us.

Seahawks and Bengals should be wins and between Dallas, Philly, Detroit, and Tampa I see us squeezing out a win with at least one of those guys.

So i say 4-2 into the bye. Ideally i would want 5-1(win vs TB!!!) but 4-2 is my expectations... yea the bar is set high.

I think the Lions are gonna take a big step forward this season (Staffords health being the exception) so I don't think we will beat them. We never seem to beat the Eagles so I can't pick a win there. Dallas should have a better year, and didn't Tampa shut us out?? Maybe Tampa regresses, so we might pull out a 3-3. But I'm sticking with 2-4. Until the 49ers learn to stop underachieving I can't give them the benefit over any decent teams.

I agree and do hope the Lions break out. When Fairley gets healthy my god, i want to see that monsterous duo go bananas....

We make too many mistakes vs the eagles, so I don't know if that would change. Plus a strong secondary they have usually hurts Alex anyways.

Dallas, i believe it when i see it. They're beatable and not that much different than us. If we can get to Romo behind that new OL, then we're in business.

We lost to tampa because of Sings and poor offensive display... it's a new direction, new plays, new playcalling, new variety of attacks.... Tampa may still beat us but we got to believe!

Well, the best part of the Tampa game is that the 49ers should want to avenge the shutout that Tampa dealt them last year. I think we'll see something similar to how the 49ers played the Falcons a year after that embarrassing loss at home.

The 49ers may not win, but it definitely won't be a blowout loss again.

With the Lions, after the 49ers were the team who everyone thought would make the leap to contention the past two years and failed. I think I'll take the guarded optimism approach with them, I won't think they've done that until they actually do. Granted, they're not being hamstrung by Alex Smith, but they might end up being hamstrung by Stafford's health.
