The Middle of Everywhere: NWI
Self-explanatory...
I am taking LeBron, but I think Harden will win it because MVP voters tend to ignore LeBron's greatness.
If his numbers stay at career highs like they are, I doubt the voters will ignore it this time around. Enough time has passed to lose their fatigue. If the they dip to average Lebron (which is still better than basically everyone), they'll vote Harden
I like Harden but he has always choked in the playoffs.
At the same time, his playoff numbers aren't all that much worse than his regular season numbers, and obviously some of that is due to him being playing vs tougher defenders on the whole (ie - Spurs, Warriors) in the playoffs than compared to the regular season where he's playing vs a spectrum of defenses (good, bad, average).
Last 3 full seasons:
Season - 28.5 PPG, 8.5 APG, 6.6 RPG, 43% FG, 36% 3P, 4.8 TO
Playoffs- 27.5 PPG, 7.8 APG, 5.5 RPG, 43% FG, 33% 3P, 4.9 TO
I'n just going on watching him in several series. So looking at overall numbers doesn't show the individual series. Like when he played for OKC. He was great against SA then laid an egg against Miami. So looking at overall numbers they were probably not bad. And I know he was young then and a sixth man. Just an example.
