I disagree with Dean and believe that Harris has scenerios prepared for and communicated that to the investors. I doubt he got buy in from investors by saying that the goal is to keep a coach with 5 straight seasons without a winning record in total control. Maybe he did?

I think harris knows he needs a GM. Just my opinion.
Oh I think Harris was the one that contacted Payton. If the sale goes through sooner Payton might be here. Lol. Not sure if thats a good or bad thing at this point.

Ron knows he has to make the playoffs this year and maybe win a game.

you are ignoring the mess that was here when he got hired.
And you are ignoring his history of poor coaching records and his inability to develop qbs. He had zero front office experience coming here. How in the world was that not a red flag to you?

Why do pundits continue to rank our front office as one of the worst in the nfl.

He came in with a young core that he leans on today: TMac, Sweat, Allen, and Payne.

He also had 61 million to start free agency with. Snyder is a pill yes, but dont act like he came in with no cap space and zero talent on the roster.

2020 NFL Salary Cap Officially set at $198.2 million, How much cap room do the Redskins have?

im not acting liek he had no cap space and you are right about his record. Im not saying RR has done a perfect job here. Synder was so desperate he HAD to give RR GM duties to get him here. We werent going to get a big time HC b/c of Synder.

I agree 100% on what you said.

My point is that Snyder is gone so what is our hold up now? Snyder is not an excuse anymore.

If Rivera hasn't done a great job here and he was the best we could do with a crappy owner, then what are you afraid of if we shoot for the stars?

not afraid at all. Im saying for the 100th time if he wins THIS year and gets a playoff win, that should be enough for him to stay on. Unless, EB get a HC offer and the offense produces this year we might have to stick with EB.

Check this out. RR is not even top 10 on this guys list.

That article contradicts what most experts say, but everyone has their opinion.

Yes, if the offense produces, EB is likely gone. He would have earned a Hc job in my opinion.

Harris will have to make a decision and determine if Rivera won based mostly off of EBs contribution. Harris must avoid another gruden/mcvay situation.

Rivera winning this season and securing a playoff win does nothing for me to move the needle. Why? Look at the data. Rivera wins every 4 years on average and never has secured back to back winning seasons. You cannot ignore that and must look at his career in totality. Just like sty said, the data is there for anybody.

I would pair EB with the chiefs assistant GM and replicate what the chiefs are doing. The nfl is moving away the coach centric model and old school defensive coaches.

It is Rivera the GM that would probably be fired instead of the coach. I don't think harris wants mediocrity and to have a goal of getting 9 wins a year. If Rivera was a panic type of hire, and his role increased for him to take the job, why not get it right now and build the team deliberately and get the best talent possible?

Riveras career has demonstrated that a winning season does not guarantee anything moving forward.

Right...

I like Rivera the player and person.

I think that Harris wants competitiveness and a culture of excellence and winning. Rivera doesnt bring that per his accomplishments to date.

Harris just signed off on doc rivers being fired.
Doc is an nba champion winning coach with over 1,000 total wins and over 100 playoff wins. The 76ers had advanced to the Eastern conference semifinals and were beat.
Doc is considered a top 20 nba coach of all time.

Point being, harris appears to demand success regardless of what the current year outcome was. If harris signs off on doc being fired, I can't imagine him not firing Rivera if he wishes. Just my opinion. I confused at the extreme loyalty Dean has to Rivera.
